Introducing The Purple AP Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar 26598BC
Colour has played a determining role this year in the world of watches, and any article we write about colourful watches invariably features Audemars Piguet. Today, we introduce another dynamic colour-popping 41mm white gold model with a purple Grand Tapisserie dial and a diamond-set bezel. Value Proposition Rumoe Nobel Royal Watch - Monochrome Watches
Every single day we see watches from every corner of the industry and from all areas of watchmaking. Whether it be super-complex avant-garde watches or elegance encased in a dress watch, we see it all. But, in all fairness, this comes at a price which usually runs in the thousands. That is exactly what the new Kickstarter-launching brand Rumoe has in mind to tackle: offering their luxurious-looking timepieces, but at a very affordable price. Their premiere watch is called the Nobel Royal, and we had the chance to experience it hands-on!These are tough times to start a new brand from scratch, even if you outsource (most of) the parts or movement, and it is not uncommon to seek refuge on Kickstarter in order to get your brand going. You could debate whether this is in the spirit of traditional watchmaking and historical reference, but I am one to applaud properly designed and executed products and campaigns. However, when we cover these on Monochrome, we tend to be a little bit extra cri
Just Because: Singapore Watch Club Releases a Collection of 15 Vacheron Constantin Chronograph 47101
Watch clubs are burgeoning worldwide to gather enthusiasts around a single passion: their appreciation of beautiful timepieces. We’ve seen this in all regions, such as, for instance, the Emirates Watch Club founded by Malek bin Easa. Travelling further East is the Singapore Watch Club, which was founded in 2015 and has been gathering collectors and watch enthusiasts for over eight years. And to celebrate their existence, 15 members have been working together with Vacheron Constantin around the creation of a collection of restored neo-retro watches, the glorious Chronograph 47101. The result is here, and it is stunning. To quote its members: “The Singapore Watch Club was founded on 31st October 2015 when a few watch geeks who met on Instagram got together and bonded over beer, and the rest is history“. Born from the simple idea of sharing a common passion for watches, the SWC is yet another great initiative to raise awareness of watchmaking and c
