When you think of a quality watch, the Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar comes in mind. It is the first watch to feature a touch-screen that is powered by solar energy. The elegant design offers an antimagnetic titanium case with black PVD coating. Moreover, the crystal used is a tactile scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that has an anti-reflective coating. With a weight of only 89g, it is water resistant and offers a ton of features.

Hands-On - TAG Heuer Carbon Aquaracer Calibre 5 Special Trilogy (Specs & Price)
Move over ceramic, here comes carbon. Carbon fibre is the flavour of the day in the material world giving watches a high-tech stealth look associated with the world of F1 and competitive sailing. Following in the wake of the highly successful Carbon Monaco customized by Bamford, TAG Heuer presents three Aquaracer models decked out with carbon fibre details and housed in a 41mm black PVD-coated titanium hull. All three Aquaracers, differentiated by their colour schemes, will be put on sale today, along with the much anticipated Monaco Bamford unveiled back in March 2018. Before we look at the three models in detail, two points need clarifying: the Aquaracers have not been customized by Bamford and the cases, unlike the Monaco Bamford, are not made from solid carbon fibre. There are carbon fibre details on the case, however, and the good news for fans of the Aquaracer is that you can get the same cool look of a customized Bamford for roughly half the price. The genesis of the AquaracerTAG
Hands-On: The Otsuka Lotec ¡í 6, The new Japanese Indie Sensation
In May of this year, we introduced Jiro Katayama, an independent watchmaker from Japan, and his brand Otsuka Lotec, which, despite its distribution being limited exclusively to his home country, has gained recognition across the continents. We had the pleasure of experiencing one of his models, the recently updated Otsuka Lotec ¡í 6, and here are our notes.Jiro Katayama, a Tokyo-based watchmaker and designer, draws his inspiration not from the realm of watches but from the industrial world where his career began – the world of cars, trains, aeroplanes, all kinds of vehicles, really, and gauges. Purchasing a bench lathe machine to create something entirely his own – since building a car was not
Hands-On with the IWC Portugieser Hand-Wound Eight Days ¡®BFI London Film Festival 2015 Limited Edition - Monochrome-Watches
For once, allow me to quote a press release (something that we usually never do, considering the insane amount of self-love brands can and usually put in their press releases). However, this one was quite appropriate: “Like a good movie, this watch doesn't have to rely on special effects“. Indeed, the?IWC Portugieser Hand-Wound Eight Days is visually flying under the radar and all the artifacts are mechanical – which is a much better option for watch-nerds like us. To follow the unique platinum edition of the Portugeiser Annual Calendar for BFI 2015 we showed you recently, IWC also introduces a 59-piece limited edition, with a simpler movement and in steel. Here is the?IWC Portugieser Hand-Wound Eight Days BFI London Film Festival 2015' Limited Edition. If you have interest in history of watchmaking, you’ve probably noticed that the IWC?Portugieser Hand-Wound Eight Days could easily be the edition that is the closest to the very first Portugieser watches introduc
Basel news: TAG Heuer Monaco 40th anniversary - Monochrome Watches
Dear readers,The past week i’ve been busy upgrading the software and design?of Monochrome.nl . Although the design changes are not complete yet, I hope you like the new looks of monochrome. Within a few days i’ll start posting about watches again. It’s an exiting time in this month before the start of Baselworld. Brands like Glashutte Original, TAG Heuer, Omega and many, many more?are?already pre-releasing?some of their new creations. Here are already two new releases from TAG Heuer so exiting that i have to share them. The Monaco 40th anniversary 1969 re-edition is one that i think it totally exiting. The looks are so close to the original Monaco which became famous because Steve McQueen wore one in the movie Le Mans. This re-edition has, like the original, the crown at the left side of the case. The caliber 11 movement is the same as TAG Heuer used in the Autavia re-issue that was released a few years ago. On the dial you’ll see the old name Heuer! If?you want
The New Worldtimer Watches of Patek Philippe for 2022 - Monochrome Watches
With a history spanning over 80 years (and the famous Cottier watches), Worldtimers?are among?Patek Philippe's most popular complications. Patek was the brand to bring back this type of watches in 2000 with the launch of the 5110. The 5110 was replaced in 2006 by the 5130, itself replaced by the 5230 in 2016. On the occasion of Watches and Wonders 2022, the travel watch collection welcomes three new interpretations of existing models. The Blue Guilloche Platinum 5230P-001For the first time, Patek Philippe is interpreting the emblematic 5230 in a platinum case combined with a blue dial and strap. The dial center is adorned with a new circular hand-guilloche motif. Inside the watch is the fine and well-known Calibre 240HU (HU= Heure Universelle). This 27.50mm automatic movement features an off-center 22K gold micro-rotor, allowing a height below 3.9mm. It runs at 3Hz with 48 hours of power reserve. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
