Zenith El Primero Grande Date Chronomaster men's watch has a sophisticated corporate look with a touch of class. It has a case made of silver-tone stainless steel with a strap back made of brown alligator leather rubber. A nice addition to this is its 18kt rose gold bezel silver-tone and silver skeleton dial with luminous rose gold-tone hands and hour markers. Furthermore, it has an analog dial with a date display at 2 o'clock.

Watches NEWS
Introducing: The Deep-Diver Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen Deep 4810
Montblanc introduced its white star logo in 1913, an emblem which has graced the caps of its fountain pens and, later, the crowns of its watches. While the logo is universally recognised, some folk might not know that it represents a stylised bird’s eye view of the snow-capped peak of Mont Blanc and its six glaciers. As a brand that has always fostered its connection to Europe’s highest mountain with a selection of mountaineering-themed sports watches, the decision to introduce a diver’s watch seemed an odd change of direction. However, CEO Laurent’s Lecamp’s gamble paid off with the 1858 Iced Sea, an ISO 6425-compliant, 300m water-resistant diver’s watch with a crackly, sparkling glacier dial inspired by the Mer de Glace or ice sea glacier found on the slopes of Montblanc. Buoyed by the success of the 1858 Iced Sea collection of 2022, Montblanc releases a top-of-the-line diver with an impressive water-resistance of 4,810m, which, as you might have g
The Omega 125th Anniversary Pocket Watch - Review, Price
If the project had been announced a couple of years ago, we had not got the chance to go hands-on with the commemorative pocket watch released to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Omega name. On the occasion of the visit to the Omega headquarters in Biel, we were finally able to take to a look at this fascinating timepiece. And this was well worth the wait, in particular in view of the work performed in the reconstruction of the famous 19-ligne calibre powering the watch, partially using original partsFrom the Omega Museum – An Omega/Louis Brandt et Frere Pocket Watch fitted with 19-ligne calibre – here in DDR execution, one of the highest and most coveted grades produced for this legendary movement (together with VeryBest)BackgroundIf the roots of Omega go as far back as 1848, when Louis Brandt set up an etablissage assembling watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the Omega name goes back to 1894 and the presentation of the Omega 19-ligne calibre (a ligne is an ancient French
Buying Guide - Best of Chronograph Watches for 2021
The nights are longer, the days are shorter and Christmas is around the corner… Yes, the end of the year is fast approaching and it means that we have to start looking back at what happened this year. 2021 has been a time for changes in the industry, which had to adapt following the pandemic, and everything entailed by the adoption of new business practices. But it’s also been a year for creativity. For this reason, and until the end of the year, we’ll look back at the best watches unveiled in each category, and we start today by looking at what we think were the best chronographs of 2021. All very different in style, price and complexity, but all featuring a stopwatch function…Editor’s note: this list reflects the preferences of MONOCHROME’s editorial team and results from an internal vote. This list is, of course, non-exhaustive and remains subjective. If there are other chronograph watches launched in 2021 that made an impression on you, feel free
Rado Tradition Captain Cook MKIII Automatic (Specs & Price)
Rado, for the large majority of us, is known for its ceramic watches – and obviously, the brand is good at it. However, Rado also wanted to remind us that there were other watches in its collection before the advent of ceramic cases and that the company has a (much richer) past. To this end, the brand introduced several vintage-inspired dive watches last year named “Captain Cook”. Today, there’s a new chapter in this story, with the presentation of the?Rado Tradition Captain Cook MKIII Automatic – another cool, historical dive watch, this time with a slightly more modern touch. Two models were released in 2017 as part of the Captain Cook homage; the Hyperchrome Captain Cook with a 37.3mm diameter, which perfectly captured the vintage spirit of the original 1962 model, and a less convincing 45mm version in titanium. The new?Captain Cook MKIII plays on a different trend, with an oversized case and a colourful dial. While it retains the?vintage look of the ori
Introducing: The New Patek Philippe Calatrava 6196P
Since its introduction in 1932, many consider the Calatrava reference 96 as the paragon of an elegant dress watch. Although the collection has expanded in different directions, fans of the classical, timeless, time-only, ultra-slim, manual-winding dress watch will be pleased to learn about the latest Calatrava released during Watches & Wonders 2025. With its vintage-inspired rose-gilt opaline dial, luxurious platinum case and larger and more powerful 30-255 PS calibre, one feature gives the new Calatrava ref. 6196P a surprisingly contemporary air.A follow-up to the long discontinued reference 5196, the new 6196P shares the 96 in its name in honour of its famous ancestor. The 6196 comes in a slightly larger 38mm platinum case with a slender profile of 9.33mm and a diamond set into the caseband at 6 o'clock. What doesn’t change is the iconic 3-part case of the Calatrava, with flat-edge bezel. Polished with satin-brushed flanks, the smooth bezel is bevelled, and the slender lugs
