Watch brands with a weblog - Monochrome Watches
Most watch brands are present on Facebook these days. While most brands hardly make the most of social media, some brands (or watchmakers) really use these new media to share more than just a press release.Social media are becoming an important factor in communications. Not only in personal communications, but also businesses blend in and use these communication channels. When internet arose, most watch brands didn’t hurry to get an online appearance. Years later, when social media are booming, the same thing happens. Most watch brands do have a Facebook page by now. In 2008, Cartier was the watch brand with the most ‘fans’, almost 10,000. Today they have no less than 37,000 Facebook ‘fans’. The big question however is if they use this medium to really interact with?their Facebook ‘fans’? Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Vintage Meets EV revolution, with an Electrified Classic Mini - Monochrome Watches
Returning readers of MONOCHROME might have picked up on a few hints and stories that have sparked (pun intended) this one. The EV revolution in the automotive industry. Where the average Joe is accustomed to seeing electric vehicles on the road by now, with vast numbers of Tesla's whizzing around, there's one segment that has been getting more and more traction: classic car conversions. Of course, the two are completely different and I highly doubt a classic Patek Philippe or Breguet will ever be retro-fitted with a quartz movement. The trend to convert vintage cars to electric pow

Rarer than hen’s teeth? This Orange dial Heuer Autavia is indeed extremely rare, if not unique. Experts are still debating on the exact details, however they seem to agree we’re dealing with a genuine Heuer Autavia ref. 1163, with a high-beat calibre 11 movement, a prototype orange dial, and hands from a Heuer Carrera ref. 1153. And it seems to be authentic. You want to own it? That’s possible! This rare prototype Heuer Autavia was offered for sale at the Chronocentric forums (click here), which is a forum for vintage (Heuer) chronograph collectors. Of course we immediately mailed the seller, who send us some additional images and told us he bought the watch, as is, at a reputable watch dealer in Munich, Germany. That would make sense, because according to several experts who commented online, a few orange Autavia dials surfaced at a German watch dealer some years ago. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
