The 2020 Pasha de Cartier Stainless Steel 41mm (Specs & Price)
The Parisian Maison heralded the return of its Pasha de Cartier collection a couple of weeks ago, during the virtual edition of Watches & Wonders 2020. Originally launched as a collection in 1985, the Pasha was discontinued about ten years ago. Awakening after a decade of slumber, the Pasha de Cartier arrives in two new case sizes of 41mm and 35mm and is clearly being marketed as a unisex watch. Apart from the high jewellery and skeletonised/tourbillon models, the core collection is composed of three-hand models in different case materials fitted with mechanical automatic movements and Cartier's QuickSwitch strap changing system. How has the original 1985 fared in this latest transformation? Was it really commissioned as a one-off waterproof piece by the Pasha of Marrakech in 1932? Read on and find out what we thought of the legend behind the watch and the 41mm steel version we had for our review session.CARTIER’S REMARKABLE SHAPED CASESThe legendary Parisian jewellery house
Hands-On - Chopard L.U.C Heritage Grand Cru (Specs & Price)
While it is commonly?accepted that watches are mainly round – a shape guided by the way time is indicated by hands – exceptions exist. Shaped-watches are not that usual and if some tried, only a few endured. Mastering shapes is something complex, which requires a bit of talent. The brand was?founded in 1860, in Sonvilier, by Louis-Ulysse Chopard and was originally known for making ladies’ watches and pocket watches. In 1963, the brand became the property of the?Scheufele family (at that time managed by Karl?Scheufele, a watchmaker from Pforzheim, Germany). Habring2 Doppel 3 Reviewed - Monochrome Watches
Today we’re going to review a very special watch. It is a double chronograph, with a single-pusher chronograph function and an additional pusher for the split-seconds function. This alone sounds interesting, however if you consider that the watch is made by Habring2, and also consider that Richard Habring played a major role in developing IWC’s Doppelchrono, the importance of the Habring2 Doppel 3 might become evident. It was evident enough for the jury of the prestigious Grand Prix de Horlogerie de Geneve, to award its predecessor with the Sports Watch Prize in 2012. The Doppel 3 is an evolution of the Doppel 2, which won the sports watch prize at the 2012 GPHG. While the Doppel 2 was operated by three pushers – two for the chronograph and one for the split seconds function – the Doppel 3 takes it a step further. It is actually a single-pusher (or mono poussoir in French) chronograph with two central chronograph second hands. One of the hands is to measure an e
