Hands-On - A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Outsize Date Silver Dial (price)
Coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of the revival of A. Lange & Sohne, a new argente version of the Saxonia Outsize Date was released in December 2020 to sit alongside the existing black dial models of 2018. Identical in specifications to the 2018 Outsize Date, the novelty here was a new silvery-coloured dial. What might have been interpreted as a cosmetic touch marked a significant change in mood as the Outsize Date navigated back into more classic waters. Available in 18k white or pink gold cases, we were able to spend some time with the pink gold model. The Saxonia Outsize Date is all about symmetry and minimalism, having a superbly balanced dial.Saxonia LoreAs all of our readers steeped in A. Lange & Sohne lore know, the Saxonia was part of the initial quartet of watches launched in 1994 by Walter Lange and Gunter Blumlein to mark the renaissance of the brand. The name Saxonia' was chosen to honour the German region of Saxony where Ferdinand Adolph Lange erected his m

The Most Sought-After Patek Philippe Models in Collection - And the Sad Reality of the Market
Last week, we published an article that we believed was a “necessary evil”. We listed the 5 most sought-after watches currently in production and looked at their “real” market value, the reasons behind the trend and the premium you actually have to pay if you want to get your hands on these watches today. This article has been a hot topic of discussion, with many comments – most of them very interesting. For this reason, we’ve decided to also look at another brand, which is now under the same speculative bubble: Patek Philippe. So here are the hottest Patek Philippe watches now in the collection and guess what, all of them are Nautilus and Aquanaut models. Here’s what you'll have to pay if you want to skip the (sometimes even 10-year) waiting list. The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 is one of the most desirable watches on the market today, if not THE most desirable one.The fame of the Nautilus, especially the time-and-date steel/blue dial versio
Tudor Glamour Double Date 42mm Manufacture Movement 57100/57103 (Specs & Price)
When the name Tudor is mentioned, models such as “Black Bay” or “Pelagos” spring to mind. For sure, the brand communicated (and created) a lot on these products – which are admittedly?great watches. However, there are more watches in the collection than these sporty, vintage-inspired pieces – and that includes, for instance, the “Style“, the recently introduced “1926” or the Glamour – a watch that remained under the radar for us… Until now. Today, the brand unveils a redesigned and slightly more masculine version of this watch, now equipped with a brand new version of the manufacture movement. Meet the?Tudor Glamour Double Date ref. 57100/57103.?Up until now, the Tudor?Glamour had been entirely in the shadows of the BB, Pelagos and other sports models of Tudor. It was one of those watches that didn’t really capture our attention, mainly because the brand didn’t communicate about it. However, Tudor today
The 2022 Tudor Ranger 39mm 79950 In-House (Specs-Price)
While most of us might know Tudor (at least its modern side) for the countless editions of the Black Bay, the brand has far more to offer… And that, for its historical or modern collections. If you recall, in 2014 Tudor paid tribute to its involvement into exploration, by bringing back an important model, the Ranger. A robust, no-nonsense instrument made for adventure, it came back modernized with an oversized case but the same overall spirit. The Tudor Ranger has since been discontinued, but today it’s back with multiple evolutions, making it a far stronger offering. 39mm in size, equipped with a chronometer movement and some tricks under its sleeve, here’s the new 2022 Tudor Ranger 79950.?Tudor, Exploration and the BNGE is known by many for its connection with exploration, as of the 1930s, including testing watches on Himalayan expeditions. The peak of this story occurred with Sir Edmund Hillary and expedition partner Tenzing Norgay, when they summit Mount Everest
