IWC Pilot's Watch Automatic Edition Laureus Blue Ceramic IW328101
IWC has been issuing special edition watches since 2006 to support Laureus Sport for Good, which has over 250 programmes in more than 50 countries. Nelson Mandela is its Founding Patron and said in 2000: Sport has the power to change the world. The goal is to end violence, discrimination and disadvantage, and more than six million children and young people have been reached. IWC has issued all kinds of Laureus editions through the years, including a Portugieser Monopusher Chronograph and Portofino Automatic Moon Phase. This year's pilot's model is highlighted by a blue ceramic case, which is a first for IWC.?The ceramic is comprised of powdered zirconium oxide mixed with other metallic oxides with a huge emphasis on the quality and purity of the raw materials. The result is a dark blue hue that's the signature colour of Laureus editions. It's 41mm in diameter and 11.4mm in height, and comes with a soft-iron inner case for resistance to magnetic fields. Introducing: The new Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024
Released in 2021, the Chronoscope was a surprising take on the classic Speedmaster, combining a large case, a two-counter dial (usually found in larger versions and racing-oriented models) with a vintage-inspired dial bearing no fewer than three snailed-shaped tracks. Untouched since its presentation, which included steel and bronze-gold versions, the Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope collection now expands to celebrate the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics – Omega being, once again, the official timekeeper of the event. And we now have appealing new models with charm and luxury, including references in Moonshine gold. What we’re looking at today are new variations around an existing collection, in order to celebrate the upcoming Olympic Games of Paris 2024, which are set to begin in just 100 days. In short, these new Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope models are identical to the classic versions we have reviewed here, only bringing new colours and materials. But as we’ve told on mu
Patek Philippe Ref. 5235 Annual Calendar Regulator - Monochrome Watches
Patek Philippe’s new Ref. 5235 Annual Calendar Regulator embodies a number of novel facets never before featured in the manufacture’s collection. It is the first Patek Philippe wristwatch with a regulator dial! The Patek Philippe Ref. 5235 Annual Calendar Regulator features a dial with an unusual arrangement - large sweep minute hand combined with subsidiary hours at 12 o’clock and subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock.?Free-standing precision pendulum clocks with regulator arrangement kept the precise time in watchmaking workshops and observatories, for more than 200 years,?until they were finally superseded by quartz- and radio-controlled reference instruments. When adjusting their timepieces, watchmakers needed an unobstructed view of the seconds hand, which is why the hour display was moved to an off-center location where it would not sweep over and thus partially cover the seconds dial for several hours in the course of a day. Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight Bronze M79012M Boutique
Following an array of new models for Watches & Wonders 2021, as well as the new and rather important Black Bay Ceramic, mostly noticeable because of its Master Chronometer certification, Tudor is unveiling yet another novelty and its first boutique edition watch. Based on the desirable, compact and vintage-oriented BB58 model, the brand launched a new bronze edition that is not only using this material for the case but also (and surprisingly) for the bracelet. Here is the new Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight Bronze “Boutique Edition” watch. The characteristic elements of the Black Bay Fifty- Eight Bronze watch are basically the same as the classic stainless steel editions, meaning a compact 39mm case with a reasonable height of 11.9mm. The shape is also the same, with the distinctive oversized and unprotected crown and the bevels running on the sides of the lugs – both signature elements of 1950s and 1960s dive watches of the Group. Finally, the 200m water-resistance
