Luxury Watches |
Bell & Ross has made some of the most fascinating watches, and the BRS-ERU-ST/SCA is another proof of this. The grey diamond eagle is quite appealing to the eye because of the sleek square frame around it. There are 7 diamonds representing the Aquila constellation, which makes the watch even more irresistible. The grey satin calfskin band feels so smooth around the wrist that you hardly notice wearing anything.

Tissot PRX Chronograph Automatic - Introducing, Live Pics, Price
Tissot introduced the PRX Powermatic 80 integrated sports watch last year (following a quartz model) and it's been wildly popular in the affordable sports watch market. This is clearly one of the hottest trends at the moment with models like the Bell & Ross BR05, Citizen Caliber 0200 and Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer Manufacture positioned as accessible alternatives to heavyweights like the Royal Oak and Nautilus. The Powermatic 80 version brought a lot to the table for only EUR 650 (hence the popularity) and now the Tissot PRX Chronograph Automatic continues the winning strategy.?A LOOK BACK AT THE 1970sThe origins of the PRX collection go back to 1978 with an integrated sports watch powered by quartz - it was the heart of the quartz crisis, after all. It wasn't known as PRX at the time, but rather the Seastar. It was a time and date piece with a thin barrel-shaped case, substantial bezel and integrated bracelet with flat links. A handful of years later, Tissot registere
Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Crystal Rock (Price)
Born in the mid-1970s and relaunched a few years ago, the Laureato is GP's answer to the growing market of the luxury sports watch. This classic watch has been joined recently with a bolder, sportier edition, the Laureato Absolute. With this new 100-piece limited edition, the design of the Girard-Perregaux Laureato is reinforced by an unusual material. Indeed, the Laureato Absolute Crystal Rock is crafted from carbon glass. A sandwich-style dial sits above a Manufacture self-winding chronograph movement held inside a case that weighs just 94 grams. Overview.Signatures of the sports watchWhen we think of the steel sports watch craze of the 1970s, we instantly recall Gerald Genta's recognizable Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch design, identified by a unique, trendsetting octagonal-shaped bezel and a portal-inspired aesthetic that collectors far and wide just couldn't resist. Girard-Perregaux developed its own take on a steel sports watch a few years later. Released with a cushion-shaped c
Omega Speedmaster X-33 Skywalker - In-Depth Live photos, specs and price - Monochrome-Watches
The Idea of reviewing a watch powered by a quartz caliber might be an anathema here at Monochrome-Watches. The mechanical beauty of the watches presented here, the complexity of their calibers, their finish, their overall design and their layout are parameters that drive Frank and the team to insist on presenting solely mechanical watches. Undoubtedly, mechanical watches have a certain prestige, a nostalgic aura among other qualities and are rightly associated with the term ‘luxury watch.’ However, there are some quartz timepieces that are uber cool. Watches that have been built with a sole purpose in mind, tool watches using to their advantage the capabilities of their quartz heart. One of these marvels of electronics and micro-engineering is the chronograph that can be branded as the brainchild of the mighty Speedmaster; the Omega?Speedmaster X-33 Professional Skywalker (reference:318.90.45.79.01.001).BackgroundThe legend of the Moonwatch (read the story about how the Ome
Drive de Cartier Moon Phases - Hands-on Review SIHH 2017 (Specs & Price)
At the SIHH 2017, Cartier introduced a watch that I considered a hit (this remains of course very personal), the Drive de Cartier Extra Flat. Slim, refined, elegant, perfectly proportioned, featuring a nice engine… Still, this watch might be problematic for some. Obvious reason: its price. (It’s only available in gold.) Then, it might be too clean, too simple for some. In addition to the existing models (time-and-date and dual-time), Cartier introduced a Moon Phases version of the Drive, which caused quite a few of these?arguments to be resolved. After a few years of hesitation, and watches that were too feminine or unisex (including attempts that failed to stir?enough emotions, such as the Cle de Cartier), Cartier announced?its comeback to?the market of men’s watches at the SIHH 2016, with the Drive – and with it, the return to what Cartier is known for, the mastery of shaped watches. The Drive de Cartier, introduced first in time-and-date and dual-time (plus a
