First Look: The New-Gen AP Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Selfwinding, with new Calibre 7138
About a year ago, when Audemars Piguet held its yearly event to present its new collection, the brand introduced a highly appealing version of the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Selfwinding, made with artist and seasoned collector John Mayer. Besides the incredibly textured dial, AP issued a highly important statement. This watch marked the swan song of the calibre 5134, becoming the last watch to feature the movement based on the calibre that once powered the 1972 Royal Oak. Well, without further ado, let’s go straight to the point: here’s the new generation of Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Selfwinding (ref. 26674), inaugurating the calibre 7138, a very clever movement that is a clear step up compared to the old calibre. A great way to mark the beginning of AP’s 150th-anniversary celebrations.Modern mechanics, the new Calibre 7138Perpetual calendars are a long tradition at Audemars Piguet. Notably, in 1955, the company released the world's first perpetual calendar wrist

Hands-On - 2021 Longines Silver Arrow (Specs & Price)
This isn’t the first time we’ve said it, but Longines is one of the brands that best knows how to play with its heritage and revive some of its most glorious models. Think about the superb Tuxedo Chronograph, the all-time classic Legend Diver or the oddly cool Avigation A7. And it goes on… This year, Longines is adding several new models to its Heritage collection, such as the titanium BigEye, and most importantly, this new edition of the Silver Arrow. It isn’t the first time that this watch is brought back to life, but it seems that this year’s version has plenty of arguments to become a great watch. Something we’ll verify now with a hands-on session.BackgroundBefore taking a look at the new Silver Arrow, we need to look at the real deal, the original model. The story of the Longines Silver Arrow goes back to 1955 when the brand held an in-house contest to find the name for a new timepiece with an avant-garde design. One name emerged from the 450 pr

Today, we take a closer look at this vintage/military-inspired piece and also to the different watches that inspired its creation.Various vintage inspiration to create a unique watchBefore looking at the?Patek Philippe 5320g Perpetual Calendar in detail, we have to understand where it comes from. Talking to Sylvain Dolla, Tissot's CEO - Monochrome Watches
Tissot is one of the oldest brands in the portfolio of Swatch Group. Founded in 1853 by Charles-Felicien Tissot and his son, Charles-emile Tissot, it was acquired by Swatch Group in 1998 and positioned as a manufacturer of robust yet affordable watches with a sporting soul. Hugely benefitting from the Group’s resources, Tissot relies on its extensive archives to create appealing watches at accessible prices. In recent years we’ve seen some strong offerings, like the Heritage 1973 Chronograph, the Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80, and the smash-hit PRX Powermatic 80.
