A beautiful dial with white background and elegant rose gold-tone hour markers is attached in the center. In addition, the casing contains a solid 18k pink gold material with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal to keep the watch safe from those unwanted scratches. Vacheron Constantin Historiques Triple Calendar 1942 - Review, Price
The Historiques line brings together contemporary re-issues of Vacheron Constantin past glories. There's the Ultra-Fine 1955, a rigorist interpretation of the extra-flat dress watch. And then, there are these three unapologetically elegant watches standing out for their original character. I had got the opportunity to go hands-on with the cushion-shaped?American 1921 and the Chronograph 1955 Cornes de Vache. But not yet with the stylish Historiques Triple Calendar 1942. It was about time to remedy the omissionAs its name suggests, the Historiques Triple Calendar 1942 is a vintage re-edition directly inspired by the Vacheron Constantin from 1942, the reference 4240. While the first Vacheron Constantin calendar wristwatches date back to 1920, the 1940s are often regarded as the golden age of this complication in the history of the brand. Back then, the reference 4240 had been manufactured in yellow and pink gold but also in steel. Looking with today's eyes on the model, the 4240 is a gre
Chopard L.U.C Qualite Fleurier Chronometer - Hands-on with live photos, specs and price - Monochrome-Watches
Chopard might not be the first brand to come to your mind when thinking about Haute Horlogerie and dress watches. You might first?think of?Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin or Breguet. However, when having a closer look at?the wide range of watches produced by Chopard, there is a collection worthy of (horological) interest, a collection with in-house movements, with superb finishes and with timepieces adorned with the Geneva Seal… and with another certification called ‘Qualite Fleurier’, said to be even more rigorous. We look at?one of these watches, the Chopard L.U.C Qualite Fleurier Chronometer with Ruthenium dial. The?Chopard L.U.C Qualite Fleurier Chronometer is the essence of a dress watch. We already gave you our opinion about what we believe?such watches should be when reviewing the Girard-Perregaux 1966. It has to be a rather small timepiece, with a simple dial, a potentially conservative design and a thin case. Precious materials are of course always welcome
Introducing the Longines Avigation GMT - Monochrome-Watches
Longines introduces a new edition in the Heritage line, a vintage and military inspired watch that takes place next to the recently revealed Heritage 1935,?Heritage Diver and?Conquest?Heritage 1954. This collection of watches is certainly the most interesting ?from Longines, with vintage inspired designs and useful complications. And that’s what the Longines Avigation GMT brings:?a robust watch with an old-fashioned style and a useful display.?The Longines Avigation is inspired by a 1949 timepiece produced for the British Army. ‘Avigation’, that stands for Aviation and Navigation, refers to the time Longines was supplying many Special Forces and Armies with robust and highly legible tools, such as the original ‘Majetek Vojenske Spravy‘ made for the?Czech Air Force. The original Avigation was made up to?military forces specifications: resistance, legibility and antimagnetic capacities.? Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Old School - Girard-Perregaux's first Quartz - Monochrome Watches
Your mechanical watch? Obsolete, thing of the past, just trade it in for a nice new quartz watch and you will always be on time! Right now this sounds like an absurd proposition, especially to most watch collectors and connoisseurs, but in the early 1970's it was reality.Although Seiko was the first company to introduce a commercially produced quartz wristwatch on the market, the battle was still on in Switzerland for the position of runner up. Surprisingly it was not the Beta 21 joint venture (that included, amongst others, Omega, , Piaget and Patek Philippe), but Girard-Perregaux that was first. Ad - Scroll to continue with article Girard-Perregaux developed the movement in house, but with the help of some outside companies and experts. In the mid 1960's Georges Vuffray, an electronics expert, was contracted to develop a quartz clock that later was miniaturiz

Right in the middle of the Geneva car show, TAG Heuer has announced a global partnership deal with Gulf Oil International, one of the most legendary sponsors of motorsports. So, what happens when a brand known for its racing-car roots teams up with one of the best-known players in the automotive industry? Well, the result is the immediately recognisable blue and orange stripes applied to one of the most iconic motorsports chronographs, the square-shaped Monaco. Please meet the?TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf 2018 Special Edition. The link between Heuer (not yet TAG at that time) and Gulf, even though unofficial back then, dates back to 1971 with the launch of the movie ‘Le Mans’, starring Steve McQueen. The car bore Gulf colours, meaning light blue with orange and dark blue stripes
