First Look: Nomos Tangente Rosegold Neomatik, The Return of the Lange Dial (Incl. Video)
The Glashutte region in the South-East of Germany is the cradle of German mechanical watchmaking. The small town is home to some of the most revered historic watchmaking houses in the industry. Nowadays, you’ll find names like A. Lange & Sohne, Moritz Grossmann and Glashutte Original, all headquartered there. But there’s one brand from this region that should be on everyone’s radar: Nomos! Founded by Roland Schwertner in 1990, shortly after the Berlin Wall came down, the brand launched its inaugural quartet of the Orion, Ludwig, Tetra and Tangente just two years later. All four models are still part of the collection today, but the Tangente has become a true icon for the brand. REVIEW: Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum Worldtimer - Monochrome Watches
The world of high-end watches has seen several new releases of worldtimers in the last years. Until a decade ago, the worldtimer wrist watch, originally developed by Louis Cottier, was a complication that was dominated by brands like Patek Philippe and Girard-Perregaux (with their WW.TC). In the past years a few more contenders entered the market of world timers, however with the launch of the Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum, earlier this year, we have a new player in luxury entry level. Discussing watches with collectors never fails to amaze and inspire me. I tend to find it is the stories behind the watches themselves that evokes the emotion within a collector. For the second week running, I’m going to cover the fast-paced world of Formula 1, as I was lucky enough to be invited by H. Moser & Cie and the BWT Alpine F1 team for a factory tour and a one-day visit to the 2024 Silverstone Grand Prix. For those who have been following our Petrolhead Corner, which includes personal experiences from time to time, it’s no secret I love F1 racing and have been following it for about 30 years now.
