Cartier features a bold and striking design with this model that is designed to catch any eye in the middle of the room. This model features in the Calibre De Cartier Diver collection by the brand that was introduced in 2013. The watch features a bold blue dial with a separate seconds view at the 6-hour mark and white hour markers for enhanced legibility. The dial is framed by a fixed blue bezel that is mounted on a 42mm casing designed out of stainless steel and pink gold. Five Exceptional Watches With Super-Lenghty Power Reserves
Whether you like watches with manual or automatic wound movements, one of the key attributes of a mechanical watch is its power reserve. We regularly see comments on the power reserve of a movement being too short, as most watches hover around the 38 to 50-hour mark. Movements like the Powermatic 80 sort that for most people, thanks to its reduced frequency and improved mainspring and barrel providing 80 hours of running time. But what if you want something with a bit more autonomy, like a couple of weeks, a month or longer, for instance? Well, you’re in luck, as there are plenty of complex and admittedly rather pricey watches around that do just that! With that in mind, today’s Buying Guide focuses on watches with a power reserve of 31 days and up.A. Lange & Sohne lange 31 – 31 daysThe Lange 31 by A. Lange & Sohne starts us off with a month-long power reserve. This exceptional piece was introduced in 2017 and is still part of the collection (albeit as a very
Omega Seamaster Diver 300M now with White Ceramic Dial (Specs & Price)
Last year marked the introduction of the revised Seamaster Diver 300M, a.k.a. the “Bond watch”, a.k.a. Omega’s entry-level diver. Renewed with a slightly larger case, a redesigned dial in ceramic, laser-engraved with the iconic wave pattern, available in multiple colours and materials, the main evolution concerned the arrival of an in-house, Master Chronometer movement. This year, Omega expands the collection with a new White Ceramic dial for the Seamaster Diver 300M.Certainly, this new model isn’t Omega’s main novelty of the year… This role has been given to the chronograph version of this watch. What you see here is a simple visual update, which nevertheless deserves a mention for being rather handsome indeed. BEHIND THE SCENES - Introducing the TAG Heuer Carrera CH80, both the prototype and the one that will be released - Monochrome Watches
A few months ago, TAG Heuer presented a brand new in-house calibre called 1969. It was clear that Baselworld would be the place for TAG Heuer to present a new watch that with that movement. And they did come with a very nice one, the Carrera CH80, a retro-style Carrera inspired by the very firsts 1960's versions. What we didn't expect, was that the CH80 presented in Basel wasn't actually the final design and that some, small but significant, changes were planned. For that reason, we teamed up with our friend David from Calibre 11, the famous online Tag Heuer magazine, to introduce you the real' Carrera CH80.The first question that you might ask is why Calibre CH80 and not Calibre 1969? Officially, TAG Heuer did some (minor) changes on the calibre between its presentation and its official release in Baselworld. As 1969 was supposed to be a codename for the development of the new calibre, CH80 refers to the 80 hours of power reserve (initially 70 hours in the 1969). The other reason that
A Journey to Red Bull Racing and through the racing heart of TAG Heuer - Monochrome Watches
Saturday means another kind of mechanics here, at MONOCHROME. As every week, we share with you our second passion: cars (like real cars, those that smell and make some noise). For this week's Petrolhead Corner installment we visited Red Bull Racing in Milton Keynes to have a chat about the bond between TAG Heuer and Red Bull. The relation between TAG and motorsports isn’t anything new; it was initiated long time ago by Mr. Jack Heuer himsel. In Milton Keynes we found out why relative newbie, Red Bull Racing, was the right partner to build the strongest collaboration on the grid. It's not necessarily the story marketing departments would like to hear, but it's fascinating to see just how spontaneously Jack Heuer’s involvement in car racing got started – and how naturally it has evolved. In his autobiography, TAG Heuer honorary chairman Jack Heuer describes going to the Monte Carlo rally in 1958. At the finish line, he writes, we studied every car arriving to see what ti
Omega Speedmaster Mark II Chronograph Co-Axial - Hands-on with live photos & price - Monochrome Watches
In terms of icons, the Omega Speedmaster is definitely a big one. If not the most iconic watch ever, it can easily be categorized as one of the 5 watches to know (and to own if you’re a collector). Of course, everyone knows about the “Moonwatch”, the Speedmaster Professional, the one that has been worn on the Moon by Buzz Aldrin and that is still in the actual Omega catalogue. However, there’s another vintage edition that should tickle your interest, the Speedmaster Mark II, a very 1970s watch that also has a link with NASA and space research. That’s the one that Omega decided to re-issue in 2014 and here is our hands-on with the modern?Omega Speedmaster Mark II Chronograph Co-Axial.Historical BackgroundWhat is the (original) Omega Speedmaster Mark II? At the end of the 1960s (in 1967 to be precise), Omega?decided to redefine the Speedmaster and to improve its resistance to extreme temperatures. NASA wanted to create the perfect?Space Watch.
