A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 Daymatic Tokyo Boutique Birthday Edition - Monochrome Watches
When it comes to limited editions by A. Lange & Sohne, you know it’s going to be rare, you know it is not a common trick used by the brand and you know it will end up being highly collectable. If, in addition to that, the watch looks as beautiful as the one we have today, what not to love… 10 years ago, the Saxon brand opened its Ginza-based boutique, in the heart of the world’s largest city: Tokyo. To celebrate this, here is the?A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 Daymatic Tokyo Boutique Birthday Edition. The?Lange 1 Daymatic is the mirror image of the iconic Lange 1, the most representative model of the collection, created in 1994 – it was part of the 4 watches that were launched when the brand was revived. The Lange 1 Daymatic is not just the visual opposite of the Lange 1, it also adds features and shows technical differences. First and foremost, this watch is automatic when the “standard” Lange 1 is hand-wound. Don’t believe that the Daymatic
Hautlence Vortex Bronze - Extreme High-End goes Bronze as well - Live Photos, Specs and Price - Monochrome Watches
Over the last five years the use of bronze as material for watches has become quite a popular thing, and although not necessarily a commonplace, we see more bronze watches today than ever before. Bronze has found its way into almost every price segment; however it’s mainly used for?sports watches. Hautlence thinks otherwise, and actually, we wouldn’t expect anything else from them! The brand that makes a point of ‘crossing the line’ now comes with their most complex timepiece in a bronze case, and it looks just brilliant! Here’s the Hautlence Vortex Bronze.?The use of bronze…Bronze has gained in popularity since the introduction of the Panerai Bronzo PAM382, back in 2011. This wasn’t the first watch in bronze; however it was the one that ignited the interest from collectors, and subsequently that from other?brands. Before Panerai came with the much-famed Bronzo, there was the Gerald Genta Gefica (Gefica Chronographe in 1995) and later, in 2008,
Introducing: The Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns, a Slim, Integrated-Style Sports Watch
For many years, Mido has been one of the discreet, accessible brands of the Swatch Group, releasing very decent watches but possibly lacking some wow effect. Things changed recently, as the brand seems to have found its own pace. Think, for instance, about the cool Decompression Timer 1961, the Multifort TV Big Date as an accessible take on the sporty-chic steel watch, or the compact, slim and attractive Ocean Star 39. Today, the brand is at it again, unveiling the Multifort 8 Two Crowns, a watch that plays on the classic codes of the integrated-style sports watch with shaped bezel, but in a compact, slim case with compelling specs.?Mido is a venerable Swiss brand born in 1918, which made a name for itself in the 1930s with its Multifort design, the first Mido to use a self-winding movement, but also a watch with superior shock-resistance, anti-magnetism and water-resistance. In recent years, the brand was probably underestimated and its potential was overlooked. But things changed in
Introducing: The Neo Kung Orienta Chronograph
A new name on the independent watchmaking firmament arises, as Chinese watchmaker Neo Kung presents his Orienta. With experience working for the Seagull and Shanghai movement manufacturers, Neo Kung has a deep understanding of what it takes to build a movement. And by the looks of it, he knows what he’s doing! His Orienta has a movement based on the enigmatic Venus 175 calibre, a rather pleasing vintage appeal and a subtle touch of Chinese design and styling that will surely cross borders and excite enthusiasts the world over.Chinese watchmaking is still often stigmatised. And yes, while there are plenty of (very) questionable watches coming from China, several brands and watchmakers are definitely worth the time and effort. To the point even that they’re certainly worth spending money on! Names like Celadon HH, Qin Gang, Logan Kuan Rao and Atelier Wen are at the forefront of high-end or luxury watchmaking that can rival the Swiss. Maybe not by volume, but certainly by craf
