A. Lange & Sohne Richard Lange Minute Repeater - Review, Price
Touted by Anthony de Haas, director of product development at A. Lange & Sohne, as the “absolute technical highlight” of Watches & Wonders 2022, the Richard Lange Minute Repeater is a case study in classicism and understatement. A far cry from the extravagance of Lange's Grand Complication of 2013 with its profusion of complications and from the 2015 Zeitwerk (decimal) Minute Repeater with jumping digital hours and minutes, the brand's latest chiming watch is a pure minute repeater sans the distraction of any additional complications. According to de Haas, the Richard Lange Minute Repeater is “a classical minute repeater but (made) to today's standards.” The classical personality of the watch is consolidated by the elegantly proportioned white enamel dial and the modest 39mm diameter of the platinum case; the modernity is conferred by several upgrades to protect and enhance the minute repeater mechanism integrated into the brand’s new calibre L122.

The new Patek Philippe Nautilus 5811/1G replaces the 5711.
The news that watch aficionados and the whole industry were expecting is finally out. A couple of years ago, the rumour that the 5711, the time-and-date Nautilus, one of the most sought-after watches and an icon of high-end horology and style, would be discontinued started to spread. Not long after, the rumour was confirmed by Patek Philippe, with several continuation models to be released regardless (with a green dial?or Tiffany blue). The 5711 now has a successor available exclusively in gold and with several updates: meet the new Patek Philippe Nautilus 5811/1G-001.First and foremost, the new time-and-date Patek Philippe Nautilus, the reference 5811/1G-001, looks a lot like the 5711 but comes with several updates. The first change relates to its diameter. The case design is familiar but has grown slightly from 40mm to 41mm. In line with what Thierry Stern had stated, the case is available only in gold and not steel. An interesting throwback to the original 1976 reference 3700 Nautil
Baselworld 2015 also means another Edition of Schnitzel Dinner - lots of photos - Monochrome Watches
One of my personal highlights of the year is the annual schnitzel dinner, that is always on the Saturday during Baselworld. It’s a gathering of long-time friends and new friends in the watch industry and the idea is simple: schnitzel, beer, a good conversations. This dinner has been the platform for new collaborations, ?friendships and was the place where the Gronefeld’s received their Timezone Watch of the Year Award. This year’s conversation topics?of course covered the new Patek Calatrava Pilot Travel Time?–?we’ve yet have to meet someone who’s impartial towards it –?and much more. It was a blast again, or as some guests friends call it, the best evening of the fair. I won’t ramble on, here are the photos (including a properly awesome table shot.) Above are some wrist shot, and although what you see here doesn’t cover every watch that was presen
News: TAG Heuer is back as Official Timekeeper for Formula 1 in 2025
In an unexpected move and with great noise, LVMH officialised a partnership that was rumoured to be closed for several weeks in October last year. Indeed, LVMH, the world's largest luxury conglomerate, officially signed on as a Global Partner of Formula 1 in a groundbreaking 10-year deal, with what was certainly one of the most important sports sponsorship deals ever. This was the big picture, as we knew the deal included brands like Vuitton and Mo?t Hennessy. Looking more closely, we knew already that the role of official timekeeper of F1, which?had been in the hands of since 2013, was about to stop,?too. And what we expected is now certain, as TAG Heuer has just announced its return as the Official Timekeeper for Formula 1 in 2025.?In our previous article covering the overall deal closed by LVMH, and even if there was no mention of this specific involvement in the group’s press release, we were practically sure that TAG Heuer would become once more the Official Timekeeper for
