First Look: The new Longines HydroConquest GMT 43mm collection
Next to the vintage-inspired Legend Diver collection, the Longines HydroConquest is a more utilitarian, robust, classic diver, with water-resistance up to 300 metres, a unidirectional, external rotating bezel, a screw-in crown and a screw-down caseback. Following the introduction of the practical, versatile and mostly visually appealing HydroConquest GMT last year in a 41mm case, Longines now launches a larger 43mm version available either with a green, black or blue dial, and with several strap/bracelet options.Essentially, this new version of the Longines HydroConquest GMT shares all the characteristics of the 41mm version we saw about a year ago. The main change is related to its diameter, which now sits at 43mm. On one hand, this new, additional, larger watch feels a bit unexpected at a time when smaller watches are coming back in vogue. On the other hand, it is just an additional choice that will find its fans – Longines explains to us that there was demand from certain mark
Introducing: Longines Heritage Flagship Moonphase Year of the Dragon
The Chinese New Year provides many watch companies with the perfect excuse to produce a special edition decorated with one of the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac. This year is the Year of the Dragon, and, for the first time, Longines jumps on the Chinese New Year bandwagon with a limited edition of 888 pieces of its Flagship Heritage model with moon phases. Available exclusively in Asia, the Flagship Heritage features an Oriental red dial with gold accents and a discreetly positioned dragon's head depicted on the caseback.Using the Heritage Flagship Moonphase model makes a lot of sense since the Moon plays an essential role in determining the date of the Chinese New Year. According to the Chinese lunisolar calendar, the New Year usually falls on the second new Moon after the winter solstice, between 21 January and 20 February. This year, the Chinese New Year kicks off on 10 February, and the Dragon will be holding court until the Snake takes over in January 2025. Ad - S
New Motorsport-Inspired Timepieces Showing That The Cars-Watches Connection is Stronger Than Ever - Monochrome Watches
As you might know, many in our team, here are MONOCHROME, are not only passionate about watches and everything related to horology, but we’re also fans of cars and motorsport. It shows, every week, in our Petrolhead Corner column. And when it comes to mixing both worlds, we usually come forward. There’s something so natural between sports cars and watches, something almost identical in these slightly outdated, rather irrelevant objects that go against the 21st-century concerns and habits. Both are often seen as toys for boys, both are mechanical, engineered, and are the topic of so many passions. And more than that, time and racing are two inseparable elements. Hence why, for as long as motorsport has existed, there have been watches involved. And the trend is certainly not slowing down, as shown by the new watches that all have in common to be linked to one side of the automotive industry. Modern or vintage, technical or elegant, track or rally… whatever you’re

Introducing: The Biver Automatique Yellow Gold & Atelier Series Carbon Edition
In 2023, Jean-Claude Biver, an industry veteran who requires no introduction, returned to the spotlight after retiring from his latest position at LVMH when, with his son Pierre, he unveiled the Biver Carillon Tourbillon, the debut timepiece from the newly minted family-name brand. True to form, expectations were sky-high, with the launch setting a tone in technical complexity and price points. In 2024, Biver father and son surprised enthusiasts with something a little more understated but no less refined: the time-only Automatique, an elegant yet not-so-classic model available in platinum and rose gold with matching dials and powered by a micro-rotor calibre developed by Dubois-Depraz. It debuted alongside the Atelier Series, featuring stone dials. Now, the collection continues to expand. Biver is introducing yellow gold editions of the Automatique, including a version with a yellow gold dial and a new Atelier Series Carbon Edition, with a dial crafted from, you guessed it, carbon fibr
