Hands-On With The New, Redesigned Bulgari Octo Roma Automatic
Rome, la citt¨¤ eterna, exerts a strong gravitational pull on all Bulgari‘s products. The iconic Octo family, which takes its octagonal geometry from Ancient Roman architectural motifs, has many branches, including the invincible legion of ultra-thin record-breaking Octo Finissimo models. The Octo Roma, introduced by Bulgari in 2017, upholds its proud octagonal heritage but exhibits softer lines and displays only 58 facets compared to the dramatic razor-sharp edges produced by the 110 facets of its Finissimo brothers. For 2023, Bulgari refreshes its Octo Roma Automatic Time-and-Date model with a host of updates and a new Clous de Paris dial, a nod to the Swiss blood (movement) animating the collection. The beguiling juxtaposition of an octagon surmounted by a circle that characterises the Octo family was inspired by the octagonal coffering found on the vaults of the 310 AD Basilica of Maxentius in the Roman Forum.?The more rounded, softer lines of the Octo Roma reflect a distinctiv
Omega Seamaster Diver 300M "James Bond" Numbered Edition
About a year ago, Omega revealed its first watch dedicated to the upcoming James Bond 007 movie No Time to Die. This model, inspired by the secret agent but not worn in the movie, has been followed by the actual film watch, a titanium Seamaster Diver 300M that we reviewed here. And even though the movie has been delayed for obvious reasons, the Biel-based brand still plays on the 007 theme and today introduces a luxurious, numbered edition of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M “James Bond”.Visually, this new edition does not apparently feature many differences. Same case shape, same spiral-inspired dial, same allusions to Bond… Yet, there is more than meets the eye and this new version is all about high-end materials. The case retains the classic Seamaster Diver 300M shape, with a 42mm diameter, its signature helium escape valve at 10 o’clock and the typically Omega twisted lugs. Yet, it is now made of platinum-gold, which is brushed and polished. It also features a

Ulysse Nardin Freak X Bucherer BLUE (Specs & Price)
The Freak is undoubtedly one of the most striking concepts of the 21st century (so far), and one of the most recognizable Ulysse Nardin watches ever. A concept watch made in series, it was also, back in 2001, a precursor in the field of silicon. Twenty years later, the concept is still alive, with the same innovative spirit and bold design. Bucherer has selected The Freak as its latest candidate for the Bucherer BLUE treatment and is based on the slightly more realistic Ulysse Nardin Freak X watch. An overview of an icon of modern watchmaking, the Bucherer way.A sneak peek at the FreakWe have to move back to 2001 to recast our minds to a totally different context operating in the watchmaking industry. Twenty years ago, the watchmaking industry was not what it is today. The independent scene barely existed and concept watches, UFOs to be worn on the wrist, watches with original displays and innovative movements, were almost non-existent; production was mostly concentrated on traditional
Introducing The New Rado True Square Skeleton (Live Pics & Price)
Rado is synonymous with trendy design-led watch designs and its pioneering use of high-tech ceramics. The True Square, Rado's square watch with an injection-moulded monobloc high-tech ceramic case, is a signature product of the brand. Taking the openworked spirit of the True Square Open Heart in a different direction, the latest True Square models in sleek black, plasma and white high-tech ceramic cases feature a split-level dial and a cut-away top plate to reveal the skeletonised R808 automatic movement.Although there had been square precursors in Rado's portfolio since the mid-1970s, the Ceramica of 1990 marked a milestone as the brand's first square watch with bracelet, crown and case made of high-tech ceramic. Its sleek geometry and minimalism established the aesthetic we have come to associate with Rado's ceramic watches. As a sibling of the Ceramica, the True Square attenuates the rigid geometry of its square case with gently rounded corners for a softer, smoother and almost liqu
