The return of the Eberhard Scafograf 300 - overview of an Iconic dive watch - Monochrome Watches
Eberhard occupies a great chapter in the history of the Swiss watch industry. However, it belongs to a segment rather obscure and less known from a wider audience. A segment which contains companies likes Venus, Martel, Leonidas, Lemania, Minerva, Excelsior Park, Gallet, Nivada, to name a few but a few that were right from the start instrumental for producing calibres and watches that have propelled, as a whole, the Swiss watch industry unequivocally to its current leading position. So it is quite excited that we're about to explain the return of the Eberhard Scafograf 300, one of the less known but still iconic dive watch.History and Milestones of the Eberhard ScafografFounded in 1887 by Georges Eberhard, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Eberhard & Co started to produce watches and quickly, it was right at the very edge of creativity. In 1935, innovation centred on the double pulsating chronograph, offering the stop and start functions without having to reset to zero; in 1938, the launch of
Is changing straps a Paneristi addiction? - Monochrome Watches
Paneristi, people who own a Panerai, are known to change straps on their Panerai often. Having owned a Panerai I know everything about the strap-changing-disease. But is wearing a watch on different straps only a Paneristi addiction? I asked myself this question, especially because I change straps on my watches all the time. I guess for me changing straps started with my Panerai, but soon I was changing straps on almost every watch I own. Let me give you some examples. When I saw an aftermarket 22 mm Panerai strap for sale at a Dutch watch forum, I just couldn’t resist. The idea was actually inspired by the?TAG Heuer Monaco with brown dial and python strap. This combination looks awesome on a sunny day, wearing a white shirt and jeans! Besides this aftermarket strap, I also have three OEM – Original Equipment Manufacturer ¨C? TAG Heuer straps for the Monaco. Originally it came on a black calf strap with folding buckle and later I bought the brown calf strap and the black alli
Just Because - Why Toothbrushes Are So Important in Russian Watchmaking?
Anyone who visits the Raketa watch factory in Saint Petersburg will be surprised by the appearance of the machines in the main production hall. They seem to come from a different age. These days most watch factories use modern machinery with computerised numerical controls, but most of Raketa's machines still date back to Soviet times. As we've already seen when I wrote about my visit to the factory, they look distinctly old-fashioned and out of place in the 21st century! And if the fact that Raketa's manufacture has its own in-house choir might surprise you, there is something else that is just as surprising, and it has to do with toothbrushes Why? Keep reading!Olga, Raketa's Production Manager, explains: “Our machines are rather simple to use, but they allow us to achieve very high precision. They are easy to maintain as they don't have any complex hydraulic systems, electronic circuits or computer software. As long as they are properly maintained, they will still be working in

Very comfortable on the wrist and always a pleasure to look at the time or just how beautifully constructed this watch is. Let’s take a closer look at the brand and specifications of this RM010 AH/RG. Ad - Scroll to continue with article When Richard Mille launched his first watch in 2001, the RM001 Tourbillon, it set the new brand apart from the traditional techniques of watchmaking. The Mighty BCHH Celestial Infinity Table Clock
Incredible things can materialise when you combine the creative aspirations of a wealthy Singaporean vintage watch collector and the talents of an Italian master clockmaker. One of Benjamin Chee’s three watchmaking brands is the high-end Benjamin Chee Haute Horlogerie (BCHH), responsible for the beautiful Celestial Voyager made with Svend Andersen. Chee’s latest fantasy transcends mundane preoccupations and reaches genuinely galactic proportions. Conceived and handcrafted by Italian master clockmaker Alessandro Rigotto, the BCHH Celestial Infinity is a two-faced table clock: one dial hosts the hours and minutes with a pendulum-driven clock, while the second dial displays a stunning planetarium complete with a diamond-studded constellation that happens to be the largest rotating star disc in the clock-making world.Three brands, one manBenjamin Chee, the reputed Singaporean vintage watch collector with deep pockets is the man behind three different watch brands.
