The dial also has 3 sub-dials and a date section, placed for added convenience and ease in access. The case is made with stainless steel that accounts for the durability of this design. The case back is transparent that finishes the look perfectly. The strap is made out of silicone rubber in black and blue tone. The watch can resist water up to 100 meters / 330 feet. The 2022 A. Lange & Sohne Grand Lange 1 - Review, Specs & Price
When Gunter Blumlein and Walter Lange undertook the monumental task of reviving A. Lange & Sohne after Germany's reunification, they had to come up with a model that would represent the spirit, past and present, of a legendary Saxon watchmaking brand. Accordingly, the watch would have to embody some of the finest historical traditions associated with Glashutte’s high-end German watchmaking, but it would also have to flaunt a combination of design and mechanics that would signal the way forward. And as everyone familiar with the brand knows, the Lange 1 appeared in the line-up of A. Lange & Sohne's four inaugural watches in 1994. With its intrepid asymmetric layout and outsize date display, the Lange 1 was singled out as the star of the quartet. Interpreted with different complications over the decades, the Lange 1 is considered the quintessential face of the brand. Following the introduction of the larger Grosse Lange 1 (Grand Lange 1) in 2003 and its various evolutions,
The New Bvlgari Watches of Baselworld 2019, Including the World's Thinnest Chronograph - Monochrome Watches
Bvlgari Watches never ceases to impress… Whether they create ultra-thin, record-breaking watches or ultra-feminine watches inspired by the Italian culture, the brand has managed in the past few years to have one of the most solid collections of the entire industry. Baselworld 2019 was again the occasion for the brand to expose superb novelties, as you’ll see in this video interview with Guido Terreni, Managing Director of the brand, introducing to us the new Bvlgari Watches of Baselworld 2019.The first model that has been introduced by the brand at Baselworld 2019 is dedicated to women; the Bvlgari Serpenti Seduttori. This piece is a new take on the legendary snake-shaped watch, this time worn in a more contemporary, more discreet way, with an apparently simple bracelet… We say apparently because this bracelet shows superb jewelry skills and is beautifully shaped with links as scales. Hands-On - Ulysse Nardin Executive Moonstruck Worldtimer (Live Pics, Specs & Price)
Ulysse Nardin’s history is deeply linked to Marine chronometers, yet there’s another speciality, rather forgotten, that the manufacture masters (and which is not that far from Marine watches), the astronomical watches. Some may recall the mid-1980s Trilogy –?Astrolabium Galileo Galilei (introduced in 1985), Planetarium Copernicus (introduced in 1988) and Tellurium Johannes Kepler (introduced in 1992). This year, UN introduces yet another astronomical watch, the?Moonstruck Worldtimer, combining the movements of the moon and sun in relation to the Earth, as well as a map of the tides and (novelty) a world-time display. You say complex, we say exciting. In a strictly literal definition, there are in fact many astronomical watches on the market… as long as you consider a moon-phase display enough to warrant this definition. Thus, with a watchmaking approach in mind, the concept of an astronomical watch relates to a timepiece with several indications, which can includ
Taking a closer look at 6 recently launched red-hot watches
We are all very well aware of the fact green seems all the rage over the past few years. It is a trend that really gained momentum three, maybe four years back. Sure, prior to that we saw green dials as well, but nowadays they are everywhere. We've also noticed a shift towards other colours, something we've addressed before (here and here) and we welcome very much. One of the colours seemingly popping up and getting some love is red. The fiery tone can be seen on a number of new watches, with six of them listed in today’s Buying Guide.TAG Heuer Carrera Red Dial EditionOne of the most recent crimson red wristwatches to be released is the TAG Heuer Carrera Red Dial Limited Edition. And although we haven't seen it in person, the sunray brushed red dial sure seems to pop against the steel case. Being a Carrera, it features all the hallmarks that make this such a classic. It comes in a steel case measuring 39mm across and about 15mm in height (due to the box-shaped sapphire crystal).
Julien Coudray 1518 - Part 1: Monochrome meets Fabien Lamarche - Monochrome Watches
Recently Monochrome had the opportunity to sit down with Fabien Lamarche, the founder of Julien Coudray 1518. The brand is relatively new in the business of ultra high-end watchmaking, as their story began in 2007. This manufacture of Haute Horlogerie can boast the incorporation of some very distinctive features, such as movements made entirely of the same metal as the case (yellow, pink or white gold or platinum). In a three-part story, we're going to introduce you to the way these people work and the timepieces they create. Good enough, you might say. Not for us. We had the chance to witness a rare and precious moment: the “birth” of a new watch. Before creating Julien Coudray 1518, Fabien Lamarche occupied virtually all jobs related to watch development and production, such as being a restorer of antique watches, Breguet's process manager, Roger Dubuis's product director and Zenith's head of the prototype department. Fabien is never in a rush. He is the reflection of his
