Introducing the Richard Mille RM 69 Erotic Tourbillon - Monochrome-Watches
Erotic watches… A long standing tradition in watchmaking. We have showed you a few, like for instance this one. Usually, this kind of timepieces tends to show automatons depicting an erotic scene (like a couple in action…). Richard Mille is now coming with his own vision of such a watch, however with the typical modern, technical and extremely complicated style of the manufacture. No suggestive scene here but something more likely to enliven your evenings… Here is the Richard Mille RM 69 Erotic Tourbillon that brings sensuality with words only.<pAs said, erotic watches are part and parcel of the watchmaking tradition. For decades, watchmakers played with the theme of libertinism by mechanically recreating suggestive scenes. However, due to conservative moral, religious and political customs, they tend to be difficult objects to wear on a daily basis (and frankly, these are watches that you have to be fully assumed). That's why many of them depicted these scenes on
Hands-On - Bvlgari Divas Dream Peacock Collection
Three new models join the Divas' Dream collection inspired by the rich plumage and iridescent colours of peacocks' tails. Channelling the flamboyant spirit of Italian divas of the Dolce Vita, the proud and regal peacock is an apt choice. First and foremost a jeweller, Bvlgari translates its bold, colourful world of gemstones into the miniature realm of watchmaking. The new Divas' Dream trilogy – Peacock Dischi, Peacock Diamonds and Peacock Tourbillon Lumiere – celebrates Bvlgari's hallmark palette of extravagant colours with exquisite gemstone settings, feather marquetry, champleve enamelling and miniature painting. The Peacock watches also celebrate Bvlgari's impressive horological credentials represented here with a skeletonised tourbillon movement and a model with hours and minutes indicated via discs.Divas' Dream Peacock DischiPeacock tail feathers, or the train of a male peacock, make up for more than half the bird's total length and feature eyes' with their iridescent
Report of my Trip to Helsinki to pick up my Sarpaneva Korona K1 - Monochrome Watches
Here’s a report about a personal journey, picking up my new watch at the watchmaker’s atelier. Since there have been some big changes in my personal life, I decided to buy a ‘special watch’. Not just the next cool watch, but a watch that is at the top of my budgetary means, and that will become an important watch for me. After giving to a lot of thought I finally decided which watch was going to be my special watch'. Not that making the choice was difficult, but I wanted to be really, really sure about it. It was going to be a Sarpaneva Korona K1 in steel.?After I seeing the photos of the Black Moon Ceremony and the lovely ladies in Stepan's arms, I joked about going to Helsinki to pick up your own Sarpaneva. I guess it inspired myself to do exactly that!?For me this is so much better than a Fedex guy bringing a package or even visiting a good AD. Here's a report from my tripSaturday morning around 10 AM I walked out the door to catch the tram to The Hague?Centr
Review: Diving With The Casio G-Shock Frogman MRG-BF1000R
The name Casio, rendered in that never-changing font, has the ability to conjure a wide array of nostalgic feelings for people of a certain age. For me, it conjures up warm memories of a 1980s childhood filled with a bevy of calculator watches and F91s and SK-5 keyboards. I can still hear those dog and laser sounds, clear as day. For others of a more scholarly bent, it likely brings to mind the simple pocket calculator or those very intimidating graphing calculators that seemed to hold the power to control the world if you knew what all the crazy buttons did.?Whatever your particular flavour, Casio has held a permanent place in a lot of our hearts for a lot of our lives. No small feat from their humble beginnings as the inventor of a cigarette-holding ring in post-WWII Japan that allowed both hands to be kept free for work while continuing to smoke. Pre SIHH 2015: Roger Dubuis Excalibur Automatic Skeleton - Specs and Price - Monochrome-Watches
When you think about Roger Dubuis, some marvelous features come to your mind. Together with a spectacular design, massive and easily recognizable, all the creations of the brand are imprinted with a superb finishing level. Every single watch produced by Roger Dubuis is stamped with the rigorous Geneva Seal (Poin?on de Geneve). Another of these multiple features might be skeletonized movements. For the SIHH 2015, the brand introduced new automatic watch, the?Roger Dubuis Excalibur Automatic Skeleton. We’ve previously seen the amazing work of the manufacture. Flying tourbillon, double flying tourbillon, minute repeater, skeletonized watches (with certainly the craziest and thinnest bridges ever seen)… The list of complications used in Roger Dubuis timepieces is long and impressive. The design might be extreme and slightly showy, we have to admit: Roger Dubuis’ watchmakers are extremely skilled. We’ve experienced such a watch when having some review time with the Pu
