A. Lange & Sohne Tourbograph Perpetual Honeygold Homage to F. A. Lange - Monochrome Watches
When Ferdinand Adolph Lange laid the foundation stone of his workshop in the town of Glashutte on 7 December 1845, he also laid the foundations of Saxony’s esteemed watchmaking tradition and put Glashutte firmly on the map. Today, 175 years later, A. Lange & Sohne commemorates this historic milestone with three Homage to F.A. Lange limited edition pieces, including the 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold and the 1815 Thine Honeygold. All three models hail from the 1815 family, a collection of watches that celebrate the birth year of founder Ferdinand Adolph Lange. ?Towering above the others with its extraordinary complexity is this Tourbograph Perpetual, a masterpiece combining a rattrapante chronograph, a perpetual calendar and tourbillon with a fusee-and-chain transmission and a moon phase indicator to boot. In honour of the occasion, the watch is cased in Lange's proprietary Honeygold and features a dark rhodium-plated dial and special finishes on the movement.Opus magnumFirst pres
Hands-On - Chopard Alpine Eagle 33 Automatic (Specs & Price)
Fast on the heels of the Alpine Eagle Pine Green model, Chopard is also releasing six references in a new 33mm case size. Like all members of the Alpine Eagle family, the watch and the chronometer-certified movement are developed and manufactured in-house. And perhaps the best news of all, the date window featured on larger 41mm non-jewellery models has been suppressed.Downsizing a watch while retaining its personality might seem to be an easy task, but it requires a comprehensive study of proportions and balance to ensure the genetic traits of the collection don’t get lost. Although there have alway
Tudor Heritage Black Bay Campaign and Exclusive Making Of Video - Monochrome Watches
The last few years, Tudor has been heavily inspired by their own heritage and, logically, created an entire Heritage collection. Two years ago Tudor launched the Heritage Chrono that features the exact same looks as its vintage ancestor. Last year they surprised everyone with the Pelagos and the Heritage Black Bay. So two major dive watch releases in one year. The Pelagos, albeit not part of the Heritage collection, is the robust yet comfortable alternative to the Sea-Dweller. With a serious depth rating, hefty in size, but extremely wearable because it’s made of titanium – might be a nice tip for . The other dive watch is the Heritage Black Bay that is also a serious dive watch, and adds a dose of vintage looks that grab back on the Tudor Submariners from the 1950’s and 1960’s. Reservoir Watches Retrograde/Jumping Display - Hands-On (Specs & Price)
There are some new kids on the block and they go by the name of Reservoir, and they happened to be one of the coolest finds at Baselword 2017. Further to their pre-launch presentation earlier this year, the brand’s first collections are now on the market. Their timepieces provide their own cool, off-beat take on watchmaking, inspired by their fascination for all things mechanical, and a nostalgia for the heyday of car culture and old measurement instruments: speedometers, tachometers, fuel, oil, temp, volt gauges, you name it!If you think that most of the cars nowadays are divested of personality? That the cool, powerful, sensual designs of the past have given up far too much of their character in the pursuit of practicality and safety? Well, if you do feel nostalgic about the golden age of car culture -iconic sports cars, racing gloves, oil gauges, the adrenaline of car racing- Reservoir might be worth a closer look.
