Video - The New Baselworld 2018 Bvlgari Octo Watches Explained
After successively launching the thinnest tourbillon watch (the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon), the thinnest minute repeater watch (the?Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater) and, at that time, the thinnest automatic watch (the Octo Finissimo Automatic), we thought that the?Bvlgari Watches team was about to slow things down a bit, just to let us breathe. Wrong! For Baselworld 2018, we were left speechless again… Here are the Baselworld 2018?Bvlgari Octo Watches, fully explained by Guido Terreni (Managing Director of?Bvlgari Watches), including the new world record watch and the superb Sandblasted Trilogy. No need to go into details; last year’s Octo Finissimo Automatic was a blast. Even if in the meantime another watch stole the title for the thinnest automatic timepiece, this doesn’t detract from the beauty of this ultra-thin, ultra-bold and ultra-modern luxury sports watch – it has all the attributes to be in this category. For Baselworld 2018, this stand-alone piece beco
IWC Da Vinci Automatic Edition 150 years IW358102 - Pre-SIHH 2018 Hands-On (Specs & Price)
As you've no doubt seen or heard already, IWC Schaffhausen is turning 150 next year and we're told the Swiss watch manufacturer has some pretty major celebrations planned. These include the unveiling of a special Jubilee collection at SIHH 2018, comprising an astonishing 27 limited-edition models. Among them will be this beautifully refined IWC Da Vinci Automatic Edition 150 Years we're looking at today.Unusually for a Swiss watch brand, IWC was not established by European or English founders, but rather by an American watchmaking pioneer named Florentine Ariosto Jones. By creating his company in Schaffhausen in 1868, Mr. Jones sought to combine skilled Swiss craftsmanship with American manufacturing technology to create the best pocket watches of his time. Ulysse Nardin Executive Skeleton Tourbillon - A lightweight skeleton tourbillon for a reasonable price - Monochrome Watches
Ulysse Nardin… quite a manufacture, with bold designs, inspired by the world of Marine. But that’s for the visual side. Technically, this brand has so much to offer. They are from the most innovative of them all. They introduced silicon in watchmaking, they created complex watches with extremely simple mechanisms (thanks to master watchmaker Ludwig Oechslin) but they also have traditional and complex timepieces. Today, not only they come with a new skeleton tourbillon, widely opened and lightweight-oriented, but they do it with a quite interesting piece tag (to say the least). Here is the?Ulysse Nardin Executive Skeleton Tourbillon. The new?Ulysse Nardin Executive Skeleton Tourbillon is all about transparency combined to a highly sporty?attitude. It creates a quite dramatic contrast between the?refinement of its delicate skeleton tourbillon movement and the robust size?and look?of the case. This new watch shows what Ulysse Nardin does best: combining the modernity of the des
Hands-On - Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris Date 2018 ref. 9068670 (Specs & Price)
Right from the start of the SIHH 2018, we made sure that the new?Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris 2018 Collection was covered here, on MONOCHROME. Indeed, it represents one of the main novelties of the show and is an extremely important collection for JLC as its only true sports range of watches. And while the Memovox will certainly be the most desirable of them all, we want to show you another model that we consider the?cornerstone of the collection. Non-limited, relatively affordable but still vintage-inspired, let’s meet the?Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date.Where does the collection come from? And why does it appear on the market now, not as a simple vintage re-edition, but as a complete collection? First of all, when your name is Jaeger-LeCoultre you can’t go too far in terms of technical looks, ruggedness or sportiness. In collector’s minds, JLC is a classic brand, with a certain elegance and a traditional design. Nothing too fancy, nothing too showy. Restrained and well ex
