Hands-On - 2022 Hublot Big Bang Integral Time-Only Collection
Introduced over 15 years ago, the Hublot Big Bang and its art of fusion concept have given birth to countless variations in all manner of sizes, material or complications. The versatile, ever-evolving Big Bang is often bold, aggressive or polarizing. As its name suggests, it is not meant for the faint of heart Presented on the occasion of the LVMH Watch Week 2022, the Big Bang Integral Time Only uses a different design grammar, refocusing on what is the essence of the luxury sports watch with integrated bracelet, yet with all classic Hublot elements.Introduced in 2020, 15 years after the creation of the model, the Integral was the first Big Bang to be fitted with an integrated metal bracelet. Powered by the Unico movement, the original chronograph model was already an interesting departure from the brand's traditional styling. The Big Bang Integral Time-Only goes one step further, reconnecting the Hublot iconic design to the archetypal luxury sports watch with an integrated bracelet. S
Girard-Perregaux Laureato 42mm Pink Gold & Onyx Dial
It might come as a surprise to newcomers to the watch scene, but the Girard-Perregaux Laureato was one of the precursors of the luxury sports watch and appeared in 1975, just three years after Audemars Piguet's trailblazing Royal Oak. With its raised octagonal bezel, sleek lines, hobnail dial and integrated bracelet, the Laureato was Girard-Perregaux's interpretation of the luxury sports watch. In tune with the times, the Laureato was fitted with a slim, ultra-precise COSC-certified quartz movement. Following a period of hibernation, the Laureato was reanimated in 2016 with limited editions, followed by a fifth-generation line-up in 2017. Today the Laureato 42mm family expands with the arrival of a new model in a luxurious 18k pink gold case with a sleek black onyx dial and in-house automatic movement.GeometryThe Laureato is all about juxtaposing shapes inspired by its 1970s forefather. With everything from time-and-date to chronographs?and from perpetual calendars to the more robust L
The most talked-about chronograph watches of the Geneva Watch Week
Outside of Watches & Wonders 2022, there was plenty more going on in the heart of Geneva. While close to 40 brands exhibited at the Palexpo complex, several other brands were present at Time to Watches or the Masters of Horology venues in the city, or even spread around some of the lakeside hotels. With so many new watches being presented, we take a look at some of the most talked-about chronographs presented during what we labelled the Geneva Watch Week.Jacob & Co Jean BugattiJacob & Co is known for over-the-top, ultra-complex watchmaking spectacles, yet the new Jean Bugatti Chronograph feels, different. It is still an extremely complex watch but with a more restrained exterior. The innovative double retrograde chronograph is paired with a twin-flying tourbillon escapement. The chronograph display is quite different from traditional ones, with a dashboard-like design. The elapsed seconds are shown by a pair of retrograde hands, indicating the tens and single units. The min

Meet the Chopard L.U.C XPS Twist Qualite Fleurier Fairmined, a slender limited edition timepiece resonating a unique perception of elegance, powered by a superb micro-rotor movement and crafted in ethical pink gold. The Chopard L.U.C. XPS Twist is an alluring thin dress watch with a different twist. Its design resonates the L.U.C classic elegance, faithfully respecting its distinctive features. Yet the crown, unusually positioned at 4 o'clock, lends the watch its unique character. If this asymmetrical position of the crown is not new to Chopard as previous twist editions have been released, the comeback of the dial with unique swirled and deep engraved pattern is indeed a nice touch. Doxa SUB300 Sharkhunter Black Lung - the Second and Final Batch - Monochrome Watches
An icon among icons… This is how we would sum up the Doxa SUB300. Recently, the brand has revived its most legendary model in multiple editions, starting with an almost 1-to-1 re-edition for the 50th anniversary, followed by specific “Aqualung” branded models in orange, silver or black – the so-called “Sharkhunter”. However, there was one major problem with them: they were all highly limited and quickly sold out. Today, Doxa announces the second and final batch of 100 pieces for the SUB300 Sharkhunter Black Lung… So you’d better be fast! The Doxa SUB300The concept of dive watches, as a professional tool, only appeared in the early 1950s, with the launch of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms?and the Submariner, both in 1953 and later followed by Omega with the Seamaster 300 and Seiko with the 62Mas in 1957. Doxa came on the market later though, although when it did, it was with a watch that would make quite an impression.Urs Eschle, one of the h
