Bell & Ross BR-X1 Chronograph Pink Gold / Black Ceramic - Review (live pics & price) - Monochrome-Watches
This watch is important for Bell & Ross, not only in terms of sales (clearly, it’s not intended?to be their bestseller) but also – and maybe mainly – in terms of image, of perception?of the brand for both the potential clients and the competitors. It is like if “beware, we’re going to play on your field” was written in red capital letters on the dial. To whom this message is addressed? Well, to make it simple, Bell & Ross with this BR-X1 Chronograph is frontally attacking Audemars-Piguet with the Royal Oak Offshore and Hublot with the Big Bang?(and that’s the main target). Is this watch convincing enough? Does Bell & Ross have the right weapons to win the battle? That’s what we tried to find out by testing the?Bell & Ross BR-X1 Chronograph in the luxurious Pink Gold / Black Ceramic edition.Overall appearanceThere’s a clear upscale wish with this?Bell and Ross BR-X1. The case, the dial, the hands, the movement…
Introducing: Tudor Has Just Dropped An Unexpected Black Bay Chrono PINK
This might well be the most unexpected release of Tudor in years. A couple of months ago, we already spotted something not supposed to exist, or at least, a watch that can’t actually be acquired by the general public. Released in the frame of the partnership with Visa Cash App RB F1 Team, Tudor created a Black Bay Ceramic blue dial “team watch” only for this occasion. Well, now it’s a sort of secret release, a watch that “might not be for everyone. And that's OK because few of them will ever be made,” (and that’s a quote from Tudor). What we know is that it’s a Black Bay Chrono Pink and… the rest seems to be a secret for those in the know. But we’ll try to know all about it during Watches and Wonders. If you look at Tudor’s Instagram page, you’ll see that it’s a proper sea of pink. Why that…? Well, yesterday, Tudor announced partnering with Inter Miami FC, becoming the Official Ti
The spooky Petite Seconde Louis Horror x Seconde/Seconde
Louis Erard has become a byword for collaborations, and the list of watchmakers and design studios involved with the brand is growing by the day. Fast becoming a tradition, the models singled out for the collaborative transformations are the Regulateur and the Petite Seconde from Louis Erard’s Excellence collection. Tapping into a festive Halloween mood, the latest Petite Seconde has been designed by seconde/seconde, the alias of Romaric Andre, who has gained fame for customising vintage watches with lighthearted, whimsical touches.Seconde/secondeA serial hand-swapper, Parisian designer Romaric Andre makes no qualms about his intentions: “I vandalize other people’s products only because I failed at building mine.” Taking the seriousness out of vintage watches, Andre’s tongue-in-cheek customisations include a Air King with a cloud substituting the central seconds hand or a Patek Philippe model branded Tiffany & Co. with a croissant-shaped minute hand
Interview: Thierry Stern, President of Patek Philippe, On The Tokyo Grand Exhibition
From 10 to 25 June 2023, Patek Philippe hosted the largest exhibition ever organized by the manufacture, the Grand Exhibition “Watch Art” Tokyo 2023. Some 60,000 visitors attended what's surely a success for the brand, which was accompanied by the launch of several limited editions, including two technical timepieces making their global debut. An important part of the communication strategy of the brand, these exhibitions allow collectors and simple watch enthusiasts to immerse themselves into the exclusive world of Patek. We're talking with Mr Thierry Stern, President of Patek Philippe, about the importance and purposes of these Grand Exhibitions. After Dubai in 2012, Munich in 2013, London in 2015, New York in 2017 and Singapore in 2019, Patek Philippe chose Tokyo for the sixth of its grand exhibitions across the world. Historically an important market for watchmaking, gathering some of the most discerning collectors around the globe, Japan was a suitable place for this 20
Introducing: The Bell & Ross BR-X5 Racing
For more than a decade, Bell & Ross has been mostly associated with its emblematic instrument collection, a “circle within a square” design inspired by dashboard instruments. Conscious that it was not sustainable, the brand decided in 2019 to become more urban, while staying true to its roots, unveiling the BR-05 collection. This collection opened the door to an even more ambitious range; the BR-X5… more muscular, more high-tech, and powered by a Kenissi movement. And if you take this powerful watch and blend in the classic motorsport roots of the brand, you have the new Bell & Ross BR-X5 Racing.Despite not partnering anymore with Alpine (ex-Renault) Formula 1 Team, Bell & Ross still has a strong connection with motorsport and wants to keep the concept of the pilot’s watch (not the plane pilot, but the racecar pilot) alive. To do so, the brand elected its most advanced and high-tech collection for its latest racing-oriented model, based on a watch wi
