Weekly Watch Photo - Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 5402 - Monochrome Watches
A Weekly Watch Photo that is perfect in every way.?A beautiful watch, a beautiful photo, all in monochrome colors and at the right moment. Why? Well, Audemars Piguet just announced a?special Royal Oak Jumbo to celebrate 10th anniversary of the Purists Pro watch forum. The photo below shows the ‘real deal’, the ‘real McCoy’, a watch that’s high on the wish-list of many watch collectors (including me). It is?the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo reference 5402. Ad - Scroll to continue with article These vintage Royal Oak Jumbo’s are very difficult to find and if you find one, be prepared to pay a serious price. I prefer this vintage Jumbo (ref 5402) over the newer Jumbo (ref 15202), because of the finer ‘clous-de-paris’ dial. The photo above shows the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 5402??A-Serie from a private collector (wh
Introducing The Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time Chronograph 5924G
Following the turbulence generated by Patek Philippe's Calatrava Pilot Travel Time Ref. 5524 of 2015 with its vintage pilot's watch flair, the model has settled down as a stable member of the Calatrava family. For 2023, Patek Philippe is introducing another version of its Calatrava Pilot Travel Time, combining its dual time functionality with a flyback chronograph. Two references in white gold with contemporary coloured dials and enhanced functionality wing their way into the more vintage section of the Calatrava collection. In just eight years, the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time has gone from being a misunderstood and controversial watch to becoming a highly desirable collectable. Relying on Patek's signature Travel Time indication, the first models featured a second time zone or GMT indication with two hour hands, a practical day/night indicator and a date on a sub-dial at 6 o'clock. Appearing in a smaller 37.5mm for women in 2018, the Travel Time took on board an alarm mechanism coupled
Hands-on with the Richard Mille RM 67-01 Automatic Extra Flat (Live photos, specs & price) - Monochrome Watches
Watches made by Richard Mille are usually bold, extremely technical, rather large and not really?discreet. Nothing wrong in that… That’s also part of the pleasure. Except a few watches, like the RM 033 we reviewed a few weeks ago, we can’t really add the word elegant and dress next to Richard Mille watches. And this is especially the case?when it comes to tonneau-shaped watches, a style that made the brand so easily recognizable. For the SIHH 2016, the brand decided to change that, with the ?Richard Mille RM 67-01 Automatic, their first Extra-Flat and elegant watch with the iconic RM shape. Will it meet?our expectations? Let’s find out. When we first talked?about the?Richard Mille RM 67-01, in our pre-SIHH 2016 article, we?were?rather impressed and pleased. Then again, we have nothing against the sporty and large watches of the brand, like the RM11-01 Chronograph or the?RM 61-01 Yohan Blake Limited Edition, mainly because, their size apart, these watches (and the
Interview - Frederic Arnault CEO TAG Heuer On Partnership with Porsche
We've said it repeatedly, but cars and mechanical watches are a natural match. The dedication to precision and fine mechanics, the passion they arouse, and the fact that many car enthusiasts are also watch aficionados (and vice versa) have made collaborations between watch manufactures and car brands a classic cocktail of our industry. But not all partnerships are equal Yesterday, TAG Heuer and Porsche announced their alliance, resulting in the Carrera Porsche Chronograph. And clearly, knowing the shared history of the brands over the last 50 years, this is one of the most natural brand partnerships we've seen recently. In addition to exploring the watch, we've decided to ask the CEO of TAG Heuer, Frederic Arnault, what the alliance with Porsche was all about.Frederic Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer, on the left and Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG, on the rightXavier Markl, MONOCHROME – How was the connection between TAG Heuer and
Weekly Watch Photo - Ma?tres du Temps Chapter Two TRC in titanium - Monochrome Watches
Today’s Weekly Watch Photo features photos of the Ma?tres du Temps Chapter Two TRC, again. Back in September I already showed you some photos of the new Chapter Two TRC, photographed by Ming Thein. A few weeks ago, at SalonQP in London, I ran into Steven Holzman, founder and CEO of Ma?tres du Temps, and he told me that he had more of these beautiful photos. Since the Weekly Watch Photo is mainly about enjoying the beauty of a exquisite timepiece, photographed in a very attractive way, these photos are perfect for Monochrome’s WWP. This time we focus on the (non-DLC) titanium version of Chapter Two TRC (Triple Calendar Round). Ad - Scroll to continue with article Let’s take a step back and have a look at the beginning of Ma?tres du temps. It was 2007 when Steven Holzman founded Ma?tres du Temps, which is not so much a new watch company, but more
