Luxury Watches |
Outperforming most of the chronograph watches, the Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer Automatic Chronograph is the most distinctive looking and uniquely designed chronograph watch. It has a beautiful ivory colored dial with minute markers on the outer rim, and luminous hands. The two subdials displays 60 seconds and 30 minutes. The most important feature of the watch is its reliable and efficient automatic Hamilton Calibre H31 movement that provides accurate readings.

Hands-On - Moritz Grossmann Atum Hamatic with Pendulum Winding System (Specs & Price)
The vast majority of mechanical watches available nowadays rely on a central oscillating weight to provide power to their movements. Of course, we see lots of variations on this theme - for instance the winching system of the Jacob & Co. Twin Turbo Furious, off-centred micro-rotors, peripheral rotors or even linear rotors. However, the principle is the same and originates?from early pendulum clocks.? To celebrate and bring the pendulum-style movement of clocks into the 21st?century, Moritz Grossmann presents the Atum Hamatic.BackgroundThe often overlooked manufacture of Moritz Grossmann, mentioned in our Germans do it better? article, produces some stellar watches with surprising complications and features that stand out from the crowd. And crowd is a relative term here, considering the fact the brand produces very low numbers of watches per year. The trademark Saxon style is present in almost every watch, with clean and legible dials and superbly finished movements. Moritz Grossma
Buying Guide - Best Luxury Watches With Interchangeable Bracelet/Strap
We all know that a watch is probably a man’s most important accessory (along with his wedding ring). It reflects his personality, his way of life, it must comply with the situation and his wardrobe. There are, of course, no rules but you’ll admit that a dive watch won’t be the best option for a night at the opera. The solution to that (non)problem: having a watch for every situation… Or, having a versatile watch that can change personality by just changing its metallic bracelet for an alligator leather strap. Convenient, isn’t it? If that’s something you want to experience, we have found four extremely good watches that are delivered with more than one style of bracelet/strap.Note: this selection is based on the preferences of MONOCHROME’s editors. If you have other models in mind that would fall in this category of watches, feel free to share them with us in the comment box.Cartier Santos Large ModelIn 2018, Cartier revamped one of its most ic
IWC's New Pilots Watch Chronograph Edition Collectors Watch for IWC Forum Members - Monochrome Watches
IWC has been one of the first brands to pioneer with an in-house forum dedicated to IWC collector’s and special news of the brand. For the third time now, they have created a special edition watch for forum members and as Michal Friedberg, the forum’s moderator, says: “it is the most exciting news in the history of our IWC Collectors' Forum“.This is the new IW387808 Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition Collectors' Watch and it is limited to 250 pieces, for IWC forum members only. The announcement was made last Wednesday and it is not know how many are still available, but given the limitation and the very nice looks, we believe these will sell like hot cakes.Let’s be honest, the modern IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph with the in-house caliber 89365, housed in a 43mm stainless steel case, with vintage-style creme color superluminova markers and hands… yes, that’s super hot! If you’re not a member of the IWC forum, well, you have one more
Hands-On - Longines Spirit 40mm Black Dial (Specs & Price)
Introduced earlier this year as a full range of watches, the Longines Spirit is probably one of the brand’s most important new collections in recent years. Entirely new for the winged hourglass, equipped with high-end features, clearly focused on precision and reliability, the Spirit is a classic pilot’s watch that combines old-school design cues with a contemporary execution. Available in multiple editions, with several colours, sizes and movements, today we look at what could well become the bestseller: the Longines Spirit 40mm, a time-and-date watch with a black dial.?A classic conceptLongines is one of the Swiss watch brands with the richest history. Founded in 1832 in Saint-Imier in the Swiss Jura, Longines became renowned for timing sports events thanks to its early chronograph pocket watches. This reputation for reliable and precise timing instruments would become the brand’s hallmark and with the advent of military and civilian aviation, and thus the need for
A tribute to all-round racing driver 'Quick' Vic Elford.
Earlier this week, news broke of the passing of Quick Vic' Victor Henry Elford, at the age of 86. Vic Elford was one of those drivers that pretty much raced anything that had four wheels, an engine and a steering wheel. With a career starting in a Triumph TR3A, he is most known for his successes at the wheel of various Porsche cars, both on and off-road. Basically, if you would have put Vic Elford into a racing car, chances would have been he'd be competing for the win. And with that in mind, I feel it is fitting to pay the man a little tribute in today's Petrolhead Corner.‘Quick’ Vic Elford – 1935-2022 – Image by Total911.comVictor Henry Elford started racing at the age of 26, which was considered rather late at the time. During his career, which spanned more than two decades, he raced in everything from Mini to Triumph, Ford, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Ferrari, Lola, Cooper, Chaparral and more. He was a Porsche-works driver for 5 years, which saw him achieve his bigg
