New IWC Ingenieur Collection - Pre-SIHH 2013 - Monochrome Watches
While it’s more then 1,5 month to go to the SIHH 2013, new models are being released almost daily. And so does IWC… however they don’t simply introduce a new model, no, they complete revamp an entire collection, like they did last year with the Pilot’s Collection. This year it’s the Ingenieur Collection and the best news is the (re-)introduction of the new Ingenieur Automatic. A self-winding, 40 mm stainless steel homage to the original Ingenieur designed by Gerald Genta in 1977. Not only does it have killer looks, it also herald a return to the true functional integrity of the Ingenieur; being able to withstand magnetic fields up to 40,000 A/m. VIDEO - The Bulgari Octo Finissimo Trilogy Explained - Monochrome Watches
For quite some decades, the concept behind ultra-thin watches was focussed almost exclusively on classic, elegant and sleek designs. However, Bulgari had something else in mind. Why not house these ultra-thin movements inside a collection of modern and bold watches, inspired by the Italian sense for design, or in other words the icon that is the Octo? This is what the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Trilogy is: an iconic design with record-breaking movements – with the thinnest tourbillon movement, the thinnest minute repeater watch and the thinnest automatic movement ever (and certainly more to come) And to us, this achievement deserves a proper, in-depth video. With an expertise in watchmaking gained through the production of in-house movements and, mainly, the acquisition a few years ago of two Haute-Horlogerie manufactures (Daniel Roth and Gerald Genta), Bulgari started developing a series of ultra-thin movements. The first one sounded like a blast in the watchmaking world: the thinnes
Introducing: The Gerald Charles Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon
Gerald Charles Genta, one of our time’s most respected and well-known watch designers, sold his eponymous brand Gerald Genta to Bulgari in 2000. However, instead of resting on his laurels and enjoying a stress-free retirement, he created a new brand, naming it - again - after himself; Gerald Charles. In 2003, Genta sold the company to the Ziviani family, trusted long-time partners and friends, while staying on as designer-in-chief until 2011. Today, Gerald Charles honours its founder’s legacy by producing watches that are distinctly Genta in design. The latest to emerge is the delectable Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon, complete with signature case and spectacular dial. The Maestro collection, a brainchild of Mr. Genta in 2005, continues to flourish with the recent introduction of the Gerald Charles Maestro 9.0 Tourbillon editions, embodying Genta’s unique design philosophy. The newest addition to this collection is the Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon, a timepiece that stand
Omega Speedmaster 57 Calibre 9906 40.5mm - Hands-On, Price
When thinking Speedmaster, you'll immediately have in mind the classic Moonwatch, the Professional model that is coincidentally the direct descendant of the watches that made it to space. This statement is, of course, partially right, but not complete. Since the 1970s, the Speedmaster is more than a watch, it's a collection. Alongside the Moonwatch, the heritage models powered by the Calibre 321, the feminine collection, the Chronoscope or the large Racing models, the brand also has a vintage-inspired watch with modern mechanics, the Speedmaster 57. And today, in the frame of the 65th anniversary of the watch born in 1957, Omega gives the latter a complete revamp. From case to movement or proportions, almost everything changes, and this new Omega Speedmaster 57 Calibre 9906 40.5mm Collection ticks many boxes.?Alongside the Speedmaster Racing and its 44.25mm case, the Speedmaster 57 and its 41.5mm diameter represents the modern side of the collection, at least technically speaking, as b
