First Look: The IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 Green
IWC is busy this year rolling out new iterations of its Ingenieur, a collection that underwent a major revamp in 2023 to resurface with its Gerald Genta heritage intact. The watch we're introducing today comes with a fun story involving actor Brad Pitt and the upcoming movie F1. What was initially a prop watch for Pitt's character has inspired the real deal: a special 1,000-piece edition of the Ingenieur Automatic 40 with a green dial.Directed by Joseph Kosinski, F1 is one of the most anticipated releases of 2025. Shot with actors driving real race cars in real Grand Prix races, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), an F1 driver, has retired after an accident. Team owner Ruben (Javier Bardem) encourages Sonny to return to the track to mentor a rookie driver for the Apex Grand Prix Team. During the film, Sonny wears a 1976-inspired Ingenieur SL 1832 with a bespoke green dial. A collaboration between IWC, Pitt and Cloister Watch Company, the prop watch is now a reality. Hands-On - Habring2 Perpetual-Doppel (Live Pics, Specs & Price)
In 2004, an Austrian couple, Maria and Richard Habring, embarked on a surprising but successful horological journey by creating their own brand named Habring2. Fifteen years is a relatively short period of time but has proved enough to accomplish their goal: to become a true Austrian watch manufacture, respected and capable of producing great watches. To celebrate this anniversary,? Habring2 are unveiling their most complex watch to date, a perpetual calendar topping the signature DoppelChronograph movement – Habring2 obliges!BackgroundFifteen years aren’t enough to summarize the history of Habring2. To understand where this unique, Austria-based watch manufacture comes from, we have to go back in time. Before starting his own brand with his wife, Richard Habring worked at IWC and was involved in movement creation. His main and best-known project had to do with a complex (understand expensive) complication: the split-seconds chronograph. Richard Habring’s task was to
Jacob & Co Jean Bugatti Tourbillon Chronograph

But the brand has also the capacity to bring to life some of the most disruptive and impressive developments in the industry. A case in point, the brand's latest creation in the frame of its partnership with Bugatti is exceptional in many respects. The Jean Bugatti relies on a super-complex technical concept. It is also a new design direction for the brand.Announced at Baselworld 2019, the partnership between Bugatti and Jacob & co has already given birth to some spectacular watches based on the Epic X Chrono, the Twin Turbo or the Twin Turbo Furious. And naturally, there is the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon. This tribute to the eponymous Supercar, inspired by its flowing lines, stages a captivating and animated engine block under its sapphire crystal. Designed to reproduce the Bugatti 16-cylinder engine, the Chiron is regulated by a 3
Ulysse Nardin Stranger - a Music Box on the Wrist - Monochrome Watches
?Ulysse Nardin presents a world first: a wrist watch with a music box, called Stranger. Why this name you might wonder? That’s because it plays the?melody Strangers in the Night. This brilliant masterpiece was created by?Dieter Meier, the Godfather of Techno-Music who scored hits under the name Yello, and?Dr. Ludwig Oechslin. Ludwig Oechslin is of course no ‘stranger’ (pun intended) for Monochrome readers, as we know him from the MIH Watch and Ochs und Junior (check here and here and here). But Oechslin has a long relationship with Ulysse Nardin, which grabs back to him developing the legendary Freak, the?Trilogy of Time collection – comprising the Astrolabium Galileo Galilei, Planetarium Copernicus and Tellurium Johannes Kepler - and the?GMT Perpetuel, boasting an unusual perpetual calendar with a second time zone that can be adjusted forward or backward. We could go on about Oechslin’s genius, however a recommended read is?his biography, as published on
