First Look: The Chopard Alpine Eagle 41 SL Cadence 8HF in Ceramicised Titanium
The latest Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF by Chopard comes in a ceramicised titanium case and bezel, staying true to the collection’s signature aesthetic while enhancing durability and lightness. Its core specifications remain unchanged: a 41mm diameter with a 9.75mm thickness, a screw-down crown adorned with a compass rose, and crown guards for protection. A sapphire crystal caseback, marked with the Cadence 8HF designation, offers a glimpse of the high-frequency movement within, while 100m water resistance ensures everyday versatility. Both the bezel with eight screws and the midcase feature a bead-blasted finish, reinforcing the watch’s modern, technical appeal. The 7mm crown is also crafted from ceramicised titanium. The dial, finished in “Pitch Black”, is achieved through stamping and PVD treatment, retaining the Alpine Eagle’s signature sunburst pattern, inspired by an eagle’s iris. However, in this SL - Super Light edition of the Alpine Eagle 41 Cade
2020 TAG Heuer Aquaracer 43mm Calibre 5 Tortoise Shell Effect
Just in for summer… There’s nothing better than a robust dive watch to enjoy the holiday season, a watch that can look good during a dinner out next to the sea or that can follow you in the sea. Summer is a time for casual styles and today, TAG Heuer introduces something new and original. Probably not a watch made for hardcore enthusiasts, but at least the brand dares to create something novel. Meet the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer 43mm Calibre 5 Automatic with ‘Tortoise Shell Effect’ bezels. The Aquaracer is TAG Heuer’s vision of an aquatic timepiece, a no-nonsense and relatively simple dive watch with a design inspired by the Heuer 2000 and recognizable thanks to its angular bezel with 12-sided profile and its dial with horizontal grooves. This watch, which strays far from the usual motorsport-inspired creations of the brand, is also TAG’s vehicle for design experimentations with colourful dials or unusual textures. And the base itself is a reliable, rob
Tudor Heritage Black Bay S&G Steel-and-Gold Ref. M79733N - Review, Specs & Price
Steel and gold, or often referred to as “Two-Tone” has been a no-go for a long time. I was very surprised when Tudor presented us with a two-tone version of their much praised Black Bay, at the Baselworld watch fair earlier this year. The Tudor Black Bay is?one of the most popular watches of the last 5 years, ever since it was introduced in 2012. The first model featured a burgundy red bezel insert, and since then we've seen several versions with different colours for the bezel insert. Last year the Geneva based brand introduced a full black edition, and that one also hit the right note among watch enthusiasts. This year a two-tone version has been added to the collection, and again it seems destined to become a favourite. The design of the Black Bay strikes?all the right notes, and it's probably best to describe it as a modern take on the 1958 ref. 7924 Big Crown (more about the historical models here), which is a collector's favourite with its?big crown and no?crown guards
Nomos Tangente Neomatik 41 Update Midnight Blue - Monochrome Watches
However restrained the designs for Nomos might be, that doesn't mean the watches are any less interesting from a technical perspective. While it might not be to everyone's liking, the clean, Bauhaus-inspired watches are simple, elegant and more often than not, quite handsome to look at. And combining the design skills to determine when enough is enough with traditional watchmaking capabilities, Nomos has a pretty interesting range of watches on offer. A case in point is one of this year's novelties: the Nomos Tangente Neomatik 41 Update Midnight Blue. The Tangente Neomatik features all the elements of previous Nomos models but mixes in a little playful touch for a bit of diversity. Consider it a greatest hits album by your favourite band, with a new song included as a bonus. The latest iteration of the Tangente Neomatik was presented during this year's digital version of the Watches & Wonders fair. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
A Closer Look At The Time-Only Models Of The Tissot Heritage 1938 Collection
Delving into one’s archives to find inspiration for new models is common practice in the watchmaking world. It’s been done for years and will likely remain a go-to strategy in the future. And while simply regurgitating past designs might be boring to some, it can be extremely satisfying, when done right. In recent years Tissot has been quite successful in capturing the essence of historic watches and giving them a modern makeover. Just think of the immensely popular PRX collection, or the colourful Sideral for instance. A little over a year ago Tissot released the rather handsome Telemeter 1938. Now, the brand introduces smaller and simpler versions with the Heritage 1938 Chronometre, expanding the 1938 line into a full collection.?This new addition is available in three distinct styles, with either a time-only or a time-and-date configuration. We are taking a closer look at the two central seconds models specifically. The style is typical of the pre-WWII era of watchmaking
