SIHH 2019 - A. Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk Date 148.038 (Specs & Price)
It is hard to believe that Lange’s most daring watch, the Zeitwerk, was launched back in 2009. Several variants have been added to the collection since, all with chiming complications – Striking Time, Minute Repeater, Decimal Strike. On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, Lange's first mechanical wristwatch with a precisely jumping digital display is endowed with a new manufacture calibre featuring a surprising extra function – and this time, it isn’t a chiming complication. Instead, a glass ring date has been added to what is now named the A. Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk Date. With the presentation of the Zeitwerk in 2009, A. Lange & Sohne kicked off a new era in timekeeping and design. The innovative concept of the first watch with constant-force escapement and precisely jumping digital displays – that indicate the hour and minute with jumping numerals – has been followed by multiple iterations, which all shared a love for music: the?Striking T

2020 Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Smoked Dial Two-Tone Case (Price)
A year after its introduction, Audemars Piguet’s controversial yet entirely novel collection, Code 11.59, sees its first major evolution with the introduction of five new time-and-date models and five new Chronograph models. When we reviewed the watch recently, our main complaint came from the lack of ‘spices’… Well, here they are, as AP spices up its collection with smoked sunburst?lacquered dials, a palette of deep colours and two-tone cases.new smoked coloursUntil now, the Selfwinding Time-and-Date and Chronograph?Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet were mostly available (at least for the permanent collection) with classic colours – white, black and dark blue. While these colours are certainly elegant and timeless, the execution, even though superb regarding the quality, made these watches too soft, too discreet actually. Porsche Design 1919 Globetimer All Black Titanium - Full Review (live photos, specs & price) - Monochrome Watches
A German piece of engineering needs to do what it is designed for and it needs to do that well. It will most likely be a perfect blend of functionality, aesthetics and it will sport a certain degree of inconspicuous innovation. Porsche Design is as German as it can get, with a couple of firsts in watchmaking, which helped in gaining validity in the business. The first ever Porsche Design product was a watch, the PVD coated Chronograph I in 1972. Now, 43 years later, the brand?introduces the Porsche Design 1919 Globetimer All Black Titanium,?which embraces the same design merits as the original. And here is the review of this architectural piece.History/BackgroundJust to remind you, Porsche Design was founded in 1972 by Ferdinand Butzi Porsche. The design elements of the very first product from the brand are still very much alive in this 2015 introduction. The first wristwatch, conveniently the first product designed under the Porsche Design brand, followed the philosophy from the Bauha
Hands-On Seiko 5 Sports Time Sonar SRPJ45 and SRPJ47
It’s fair to say that the Seiko 5 Sports collection is one of the most versatile mechanical watch lineups in its price range. If on top of versatility, we tally the factor of manufacture-made movements, as well as the overall quality the Japanese brand is known for, the Seiko 5 Sports collection is practically unbeatable. A potential contender could be the Swatch Sistem51 – with even lower prices – but without the range and resilience of a Seiko 5 Sports model. And some new “Time Sonar” models have recently been released… Sounds familiar? Yes, but these new references SRPJ45 and SRPJ47 are a bit different and non-limited.In addition to the traditional configuration and Field models, we’ve seen the Seiko 5 Sports watch emblazoned with the motorcycle livery of the Honda Super Cub. It has also been reinterpreted by Japanese artist Kosuke Kawamura with cool, colourful translucent dials inspired by the 1970s Time Sonar-inspired references SRPJ41 and
