A. Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk 2022 Update (Specs & Price)
In 2009, A. Lange & Sohne presented a watch that was a true game changer for the brand. Visually audacious, mechanically fascinating, a complete break from the usual codes of the manufacture, the Zeitwerk became one of the most emblematic models of ALS and a sort of UFO on the high-end watch scene. Combining traditional codes of German watchmaking with an unprecedented way to indicate the time, the watch featured large jumping numerals for the hours and minutes as well as a constant-force escapement as a beat controller. Since then, several complications have been added to the Zeitwerk, such as a striking mechanism, a minute repeater, a decimal strike or a date. We had a teaser of what could have been the collection update last year with the Zeitwerk Honeygold Lumen, which now materialises?with a new A. Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk with much more power under the hood. Before reading this article, we invite you to watch the video posted above, where Anthony de Haas, Director of Product
Hands-On - The Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Starwheel
Introduced a couple of weeks ago, the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Starwheel came as a surprise. Not that this original display of the time feels irrelevant when looking at the brand’s heritage (far from that), but it isn’t exactly what we expected the brand to revive. Despite its fascinating nature, wandering hour displays are rare, but Audemars Piguet has decided to introduce something more playful and almost kinetic inside the case of its Code 11.59. And that isn’t a bad thing, after all. Now that we’ve had a chance to experience this new Starwheel in the metal, here’s what we can tell you… (Spoiler: compared to the 1990s Star Wheel, it really is a different beast.)One of the oldest non-traditional displaysDespite the highly modern result and the fact that wandering hour complications have been used by some of the most creative indie watchmakers of the last two decades (think Urwerk, Hautlence or?Moser) or more traditional brands (such as Parmigi

Weekly Watch Photo - Omega Watch Art - Monochrome Watches
Omega will be launching something new tomorrow, something exiting, but I don’t know what! Because of this, they are showing some incredible mechanical art pieces and Monochrome will share these as our Weekly Watch Photo. A slightly different WWP, but as good as the normal WWP.?From time to time, I’m browsing through Ebay, searching for some new, something old, something… well, something with a ticking mechanical movement inside. And sometimes I find these incredible products of someone with a lot of patience. Someone who made a small motorbike or car from old watch parts. I’m always amazed by how cool these pieces of art actually are. Omega must have thought the same, as they showed some computer graphics that remind me of the aforementioned art.
