MB&F x Emmanuel Tarpin Legacy Machine Flying T
Breaking a tradition of masterminding complex, visually arresting watches for men, MB&F undertook its maiden voyage into the galaxy of women’s watches in 2019. Faithful to the brand’s spectacular 3D design language, the Legacy Machine Flying T staged a flying tourbillon rising above the dial plate accompanied by an intriguing hours and minutes dial perched at an angle. Eminently feminine without being affected, the Flying T has had many wardrobe changes but none as glacial as this duet of Ice and Blizzard editions made in collaboration with jewellery designer Emmanuel Tarpin.Emmanuel TarpinBusser has always cultivated an assorted group of ‘friends’ (the ‘F’ in MB&F), collaborators or partners who contribute their expertise to different projects. The latest friend to join the gang is Emmanuel Tarpin, a French jewellery designer from Annecy who studied at the Haute ecole d’Art et de Design (HEAD) in Geneva and spent three years in the Par
Pre-Baselworld 2015 - Chopard L.U.C Regulator - Specs and Price - Monochrome-Watches
Chopard is a brand too often seen as a jeweler or a creator of simple ladies watches. However, in the range of watches, there is collection that we, at Monochrome-Watches, especially praise. The Chopard L.U.C timepieces are all manufactured in-house with an exceptional attention to details and superb finishes. The latest of them is to be revealed at Baselworld 2015 and it’s called the?Chopard L.U.C Regulator. The?Chopard L.U.C Regulator is, as its name suggests, displaying time in a regulator way, meaning two separated indications for the hours and the minuted. The?Chopard L.U.C Regulator however features more than just this specific display, as it also comes with a GMT function, a date, a small second-sub dial and a power reserve indicator. Quite a loaded dial you might think, but legibility remains extremely good. Ad - Scroll to continue with article The
Buying Guide: 5 Nautical-Inspired Watches To Wear On The Deck Of Your Boat
The idea of getting a watch for summer often goes down to sourcing a dive watch… It’s the easy solution. Robust, cool, suitable for underwater adventures, sporty and not too flashy (not always), a dive watch will do the job. Even better if you combine it with a GMT complication, practical if you ever cross time zones. But, it can also sometimes be too focused, or too instrumental. If you’re about to embark on a trip onboard a boat this summer, while also planning?stopovers in nice seaside places, you might want something a bit more elegant. This is the mission of the so-called nautical watch, also known as skipper or regatta, and we’ve listed 5 that will surely fulfil the job.?Breguet Marine Alarme Musicale 5547 TitaniumWhile also available in rose or white gold, the classy and complex Marine Alarme Musicale 5547 can be chosen in an undeniable nautical-inspired combination of titanium with a blue dial. Robust enough, yet elegant and finished as a Breguet should
Hands-On - The Ulysse Nardin Freak X Razzle Dazzle (Specs & Price)
According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, the term razzle-dazzle is used to describe “(confusion caused by) noisy and noticeable activity or very colourful appearance, intended to attract attention“. Eliminating the adjective ‘colourful’ from the dictionary description, it seems to be a fair description of the dizzying black and white geometric patterns donned on the latest Freak X. To be more precise, the zigzagging pattern pays homage to a camouflage technique known as ‘dazzle’ adopted by British ships painted with crisscrossing likes to confuse the enemy and make it hard for German U-boats to estimate the range, speed and direction of the ship. Similar to Op art, a style of optical art popular in the 1960s that used abstract geometric shapes to create optical illusions, the razzle-dazzle painting on British ships proved extremely effective and saved many lives. It also fits very nicely with Ulysse Nardin's longstanding tradition of providing
Hands-On - Panerai Submersible Bronzo PAM00968 (Live Pics, Specs & Price)
Although bronze cases have become almost mainstream these days, there is one brand they will always be most associated with: Panerai. It seems fitting then that this year, as the Florentine brand establishes the Submersible as its own stand-alone collection, we see the introduction of a new Panerai Submersible Bronzo, under the reference PAM00968. Building on the legacy of its forebearers, it incorporates the new Submersible design codes unveiled at SIHH 2019 and introduces for the first time a ceramic bezel matched with bronze.Panerai debuted its 47mm bronze behemoth in 2010. Officially named Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo, this limited-edition model quickly became known by its nickname Bronzo. Proving popular with collectors and enthusiasts alike (or Paneristi, as they prefer to be called) it soon became an iconic model for the brand. It arguably also kick-started the trend for bronze watches. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
