The Collector's Series: Frank's first 'Indy Watch', the Sarpaneva Korona K1 - Monochrome Watches
It's the one you have all been waiting for! It's time to sit down with our very own Executive Editor and Monochrome-Watches' founder, Frank Geelen. I love nothing more than talking watches with enthusiasts but this one was extra special. To give you a bit of background (in case you were unaware): in 2006, Frank started Monochrome-Watches as a blog. By all accounts, his friends (and family) thought he was mad! Day in day, day out, writing about high-end mechanical watches. Nine years on however, Monochrome-Watches has grown to become one of the most important high-end watch magazines in the online space and Frank is acknowledged as one of THE experts in the watch-community.Frank has been a tremendous mentor of mine. He is, quite simply, a wonderfully nice guy (with a dry sense of humour) but first and foremost an expert on high-end, complicated watches and independent manufactures. Frank has chosen to discuss his (seriously cool) Sarpaneva Korona K1 in this, his first appearance on the
Cvstos... interesting discussion - Monochrome Watches
After being offline for a few weeks, i am finally ready to post again. I moved to another?house and although i still don’t have an internet connection i can sometimes use a friends connection to read some forums and now post. One of the few discussions i read and enjoyed reading a lot, is the discussion about Cvstos. Cvstos is in my opinion a brand that has ‘borrowed’a lot of their inspiration from another brand, Richard Mille. While Richard Mille makes extarordinairy pieces and created a unique look for his watches, cases and movements, this relatively new comer has more or less the same look. Just have a look at these photos of Cvstos and the beautiful Richard Mille RM12… Ad - Scroll to continue with article Besides the similarities in design of the case and movement (i am not assuming their are technically of the same level!!!), they al
Panerai Luminor Due 3 Days Titanio 42mm PAM00728 - Hands-On Review (Specs & Price)
Much to our satisfaction, we have seen smaller watches re-emerged over the past few years. Even Panerai, known to be on the large side, has been downsizing its iconic design, with its 42mm Luminor Due, which is now offered for the first time in a handsome, light-weight titanium version. We go hands-on with the slender PAM00728 or Panerai Luminor Due 3 Days Titanio 42mm.The elegant Panerai Luminor Due was introduced back in 2016, providing a dressy option in the Italian maker collection. The 42mm Due retains the classic, iconic Luminor styling but in a smaller, thinner version. The case has a great balance. It is superbly shaped with its signature bridge protecting the crown and drilled lugs. It is unmistakably Panerai but different. It is slender, sitting just great under your cuff and it wears super comfortable, which is especially true for the lightweight titanium version. Not to mention the look that is simply stunning - at least for those who like Panerai watches Ad - Sc

For 2025, TAG Heuer feels it’s time for a massive overhaul of its racing-inspired Formula 1 collection, and here we are. Plus, it’s a timely refresh as well, as it has been just announced that TAG Heuer, as part of the LVMH Group, is the official timekeeper for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship again! The first watch, or watches rather, that put things in motion is this all-new Formula 1 Chronograph. We’re talking about new shapes, new materials, new colours and so on. Four watches are released in one go, with a colourful Oracle Red Bull Racing Edition thrown in the mix for good measure!? TAG Heuer’s Formula 1 collection was first introduced in 1986 with colourful quartz-powered watches taking inspiration from the world of motorsports. it was, in fact, the first entirely new collection after the takeover of the Heuer watchmaking company by Technique d’Avant-Garde, now the TAG in?TAG Heuer.?Since racing has been in the DNA o
Introducing: The Italy-Only Tudor Black Bay 58 Inter Limited Edition
There was a time when Tudor, just like mother brand , only released new models during watch fairs and only watches available in the permanent collection. These days are long gone, and Tudor has decided to fly solo, changing from the usual yearly releases to a more constant flow of novelties, now including special or limited editions. And don’t think that everything the brand does is classic… Tudor is also getting bolder with colours. This weekend, we’ve witnessed yet another demonstration of this strategy, as Tudor released a limited-edition Black Bay 58, with an unprecedented colour scheme meant to celebrate a stunning achievement for legendary soccer team Inter Milan.?One of Tudor’s sports partners, Italian soccer Serie A team Inter Milan, pulled off something extraordinary this year. Not only did it become the Italian Champions, but it also won its 20th Scudetto. And for that, the team earned its second star – in the Italian soccer league Serie A, a te
