Hands-on with the 2016 edition of the A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Thin, with new face (live pics, specs & price) - Monochrome Watches
This 2016 edition of the SIHH has been very productive for A. Lange & Sohne (again…). We’ve seen the stunning (yes, that’s an understatement) Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon, the poetical and kind of magical Grand Lange 1 Moon Phase Lumen, the very elegant and balanced Saxonia Moon Phase or the highly technical Richard Lange Jumping Seconds. Clearly, the Saxonian Manufacture didn’t disappoint this year. Besides these proper novelties, there was also an update of an existing watch introduced, a watch that may not be the most coveted creation of Lange but one that really has charm and a discrete elegance, the?A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Thin, which?now features a new face.As said in the introduction, the?A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Thin isn’t a proper novelty, as the previous edition of this watch was?introduced at the SIHH 2011, as you can see here, in our dedicated article. However, we have to remind now the 2015 edition of the SIHH, where A. Lange &a
Introducing: The Return of Gerald Genta, with the new Gentissima Oursin
Mr Gerald Genta needs no introduction anymore. One of the most famous watch designers of our time, responsible for the creation of icons such as the Royal Oak or the Nautilus, he also created watches under his own name. From 1969 on, Genta produced exceptionally complex watches (incl. an automatic tourbillon grande sonnerie, often considered one of the craziest watches of the 1990s) as well as truly unique, often disruptive designs. Under the Bulgari-LVMH umbrella since 2000, the brand and name weren’t used to their full potential. However, we’re not here to talk about the past… but about the future, as we are now able to introduce the first GG creation after LFT’s takeover, the new (and certainly far from consensus-driven) Gerald Genta Gentissima Oursin capsule collection.Already back in the 1980s and 1990s, GG’s creations were nothing short of spectacular, polarizing or disruptive. Sometimes acclaimed, applauded and copied, sometimes misunderstood or rej
Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos Transparente 2019 // Introducing, Review
The reassuring tick-tock of the table clock has by and large been replaced by more modern contraptions for telling the time. Sadly, table clocks, once a ubiquitous presence on the mantelpiece of many homes, have gone the way of drinks trolleys and soda siphons. However, there is one table clock that has survived the tide of changing fashions and continues to fascinate with its perpetual movement activated by invisible changes in temperature: the Atmos. With no requirement to wind the movement, no hidden batteries, Jaeger-LeCoultre's famous Atmos clock returns in a completely transparent case to reveal every detail of its movement that quite literally lives on air. Meet the new and modern?Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos Transparente.Atmos TransparenteThe Atmos Transparente ?(from atmosphere, the agent responsible for powering the mechanical movement) is a feast for lovers of mechanical spectacles.
