This piece by Hublot is especially eye-catching with its square 45mm, polished titanium dial. The skeletonised design of the dial displays the complex movement of the watch and is protected by a sturdy and scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The dial also has hints of a very trendy blue that match with the strap which is crafted rubberised leather with an alligator texture. The bezel is made using the same material as the case finishing things off with an expert touch.

IWC Portofino Perpetual Calendar IW3444 (Price)
IWC Portofino watches are versatile and stylish, with a hint of timelessness. The Portofino collection (introduced in 1984) is supposedly the entry-level offering from IWC Schaffhausen, but despite the efforts seems to remain overlooked and even underrated by the public. No specific data supports this claim, but Internet searches reveal far fewer mentions of IWC Portofino than Portugieser or Pilot Collection watches. Even the IWC corporate Journal listing ten products that form the basis of its global success makes no room for a Portofino. Nevertheless, the collection offers elegance, discretion, various models, a good number of complications and plenty of details to capture your attention and even impress. The new IWC Portofino Perpetual Calendar IW3444 is bound to create a tourbillon of comments for several reasons. It is the smallest (40mm case diameter) perpetual calendar watch across the current IWC catalogue and will be available in steel. It is not the first Portofino with a per
SIHH update - Cartier - Monochrome Watches
One of the most remarkable news this year is the end of Collection Privee?Cartier Paris. This remarkable collection of timelessly designed wristwatches will be replaced by the bigger and bolder Fine Watchmaking Collection.?This year the special editions known as ‘Collection Privee Cartier Paris’ or CPCP, and known for the word ‘Paris’ on the dial, will seize to be produced. If you want more information about this collection than I can recommend the website Troisanneaux.com?that is entirely dedicated to Cartier’s mechanical wristwatches.Despite this fact, Cartier comes with a very strong line-up this year. Most models are based on the Tank Americain and the Santos 100 and are rather complicated. Here are my favourites ?? Introducing the new Batavi Architect Turquoise Blue & Tony Purple
First things first, the watch industry is going a little crazy as Tiffany seems to be all the rage at the moment. Thanks to the Patek Philippe Nautilus with Tiffany dial going through the roof recently, all things closely matching the famous Tiffany Blue seem to skyrocket in attention, and prices. And then we learn about the Batavi Architect Turquoise Blue & Tony Purple. Bad timing? Good timing? Or a bit of both?To make one thing clear from the get-go, the Batavi Architect Tiffany Blue is not a direct result of the popularity of the Tiffany Nautilus mentioned in the intro. It is simply close to impossible to develop and produce a set of new dials and have them assembled and ready to go in such a short amount of time. We're talking about a mere four weeks between that specific Nautilus and this Batavi Architect. So it seems that where Ugur Mamak, the founder of Batavi was right on the money with his Architect last year, he again finds himself in the midst of a storm. Albeit a Tiffan
Exclusive Hands-On - Montblanc TimeWalker Pythagore Ultra-Light Concept (and yes, it is really very light...) - Monochrome Watches
Last week, we announced to you a very interesting piece from Montblanc, a concept watch made with one single idea in mind: lightness. Indeed, the?Montblanc TimeWalker Pythagore Ultra-Light Concept is said to weight ONLY 14.88 grams - which, even if difficult to comprehend what it means, is?a serious achievement. Last week we traveled to Switzerland for a series of visits and interviews, including Montblanc, we asked Davide Cerrato, the new head of watches, to bring this watch to us. And here are the very first shots of the?Montblanc TimeWalker Pythagore Ultra-Light Concept and our impressions of this light-as-a-feather watch strapped on the wrist and of course more details about what it's gonna be in the future. In the press release that Montblanc sent last week, they announced having created an extremely light watch, in fact one of the lightest mechanical?watches ever manufactured: the?Montblanc TimeWalker Pythagore Ultra-Light Concept, with 14.88 grams. This number alone remains quite
Hands-On - Titoni Seascoper 600 Ocean Tide with Eco-Friendly strap
Our oceans are suffocating with plastic pollution. According to research, if things don’t change, the ocean will contain more plastic than fish by 2050. Something needs to be done, and by all of us. And now you might wonder what watches have to do with this issue… All initiatives, even the smallest ones, can have an impact and can help achieve a cleaner planet.?Upcycling, the idea of?transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials, is a great way to contribute to clean oceans while creating new products. The watchmaking industry can help in this process, and Swiss brand Titoni makes a valuable contribution to reducing the use of virgin raw materials with the new Ocean Tide straps of the Seascoper 600. And while we’re at it, the watch in question isn’t a bad option either.?We, humans, are unfortunately producing a lot of waste materials. I’m not blaming or judging here, and I’m part of the system too. Yet, a
