Petermann Bedat 1967 Second Series Titanium - Hands-On, Price
It takes a certain amount of bravado for a fledgling independent brand to illustrate a press release with a photograph of the movement side of a new product. But there again, we are talking about the brand formed by Ga?l Petermann and Florian Bedat, the dynamic duo of talented young watchmakers who took home the Horological Revelation Prize at the 2020 edition of the GPHG for their 1967 Deadbeat Seconds. The latest creation to emerge from their workshop in Renens, Switzerland, marks the second chapter in the life of their 1967 Deadbeat Seconds, now in a titanium case with blue accents on the dial.BackgroundIf you thought that the reference to 1967 alludes to the year of birth of the watchmakers, you'd have made the same mistake as many of us. Just shy of 30, Ga?l Petermann and Florian Bedat shared a workbench at the watchmaking school of Geneva from 2007-2011. Their ways parted when Petermann went to work for A. Lange & Sohne in Glashutte, and Bedat joined Harry Winston in Geneva.
SIHH 2019 - Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic Carbon (Specs & Price)
2018 was the year of the ultra-thin watch. No debate! Piaget and Bvlgari, which engaged in the battle for ultra-thin?a couple of years ago, literally smashed one record after another in less than two months. The final word, however, went to the Roman brand, which introduced the ultra-impressive Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic at Baselworld 2018. After winning the thinness record, Bvlgari has decided to play on the weight of the watch. While not breaking lightness records, the new Carbon version of this watch makes it as light as a feather.March 2017, Baselworld: Bvlgari introduces the Octo Finissimo Automatic, with a 5.15mm thin case (the thinnest automatic on the market). December 2017, pre-SIHH: Piaget is back in the game with the 910P Altiplano Ultimate, the thinnest automatic watch ever created, at 4.3mm. January 2018, SIHH: Piaget wins all records with the thinnest mechanical watch ever, the Altiplano Ultimate and its 2mm thin case (however, a concept watch, not commercialized

IWC Portugieser Green Dial IW358310 & IW344207 (Specs, Price)
There’s no avoiding green. While silver/white and black used to be the norm, later followed by an array of blue watches in the 2010s, green seems to be THE colour of the 2020s. It’s not a trend anymore; it’s becoming a necessity for brands to have a green edition of classic models. And we can’t blame them, because when it’s done right, a green-coloured watch can be pretty cool. IWC is no stranger to the colour green, pushing the concept as far as possible with a full-green watch, case and strap included. Following yesterday’s launch of the Racing Green Big Pilot 43, it’s now time for the Portugieser to get the same treatment with new green editions of the Portugieser Automatic 40 and Perpetual Calendar 42.?You simply can’t do without it anymore. Green is all over the place, with dozens of watches recently launched with green dials, in all segments of the industry, in all styles and categories, and in all price ranges. IWC has been pretty
Introducing The New And Minimalistic Oris Artelier S
Oris is mostly known for its dive watches and instruments for pilots, some of them being part of the most focussed pieces on the market. Think about the Depth Gauge watch or the ProPilot Altimeter… But there’s also a more elegant and restrained side to Oris, with the Artelier collection. Classic, smooth and sometimes even mechanically impressive, this collection might not catch most of the attention but remains an interesting alternative on the market for classic watches. The new Oris Artelier S, which relies on an existing case and technical base, pushes the idea of subtle elegance very, very far.Meet one of the most “nude” watches of the year. It has to be one of the cleanest dials the brand has ever done. This new Oris Artelier S is all about making a watch discreet and elegant by removing, and not by adding adornments. A deliberate choice, resulting in a watch that is more about its shapes and colours than anything else. That being said, if it was me, I woul
