Hands-On Code 11.59 by AP Tourbillon Openworked Electric Blue 26600NB
High-tech ceramic is the big protagonist of Audemars Piguet's releases this autumn and makes its way, for the first time, into tourbillon and chronograph models of the Code 11.59 collection. So far, we've seen ceramic on the cases of the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar and the ROC Tourbillon GMT. Now it's the Code 11.59 Tourbillon Openworked’s turn to get the ceramic treatment. Marking a departure from the elegant black-tie ceramic touches, this model flaunts a vibrant electric shade of blue ceramic. You can imagine the design team at Audemars Piguet listening to the “blue, blue electric blue” line from David Bowie's Sound and Vision album when they came up with the new colour scheme for this 50-piece limited edition. Welcome back the Tourbillon Openworked in a two-tone blue ceramic and white gold case with a colour scheme that makes its way into the heart of the movement.Case StudyThe case of Code 11.59 is well worth a second glance. Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin and Tribute to 1931 - Monochrome Watches
Jaeger LeCoultre unveils the new Grande Reverso Ultra Thin and the Reverso Tribute to 1931. After 80 years the Reverso is still one of the most iconic watches ever made and the new Ultra Thin looks like a valuable addition to the Reverso collection. I assume most watch aficionados know Jaeger LeCoultre developed the Reverso in response to English polo players who wanted a watch that would not break during their polo game. The reversible case, launched in 1931, is a simple yet effective solution to protect your watch from being broken during certain activities. The new Grande Reverso Ultra Thin’s design has definitely something of the 1930’s aura. Now it’s time to give away a very nice travel watch roll, made by, and made available by, Montblanc.?The travel watch roll is for two watches and is made of so-called ‘sartorial’ leather. It really looks great, and the quality and finish is absolutely superb. Personally I can’t leave the house without at least 2 or 3 watches -when i go for a longer trip, not when doing groceries- so a good watch roll is an important access
JeanRichard Aquascope 'Hokusai' dial - Monochrome-Watches
Art and watchmaking are two worlds that have always been closely related. Brands often create events around painting exhibitions or music concerts. Some are even going a step further by integrating art IN the watches, such as Vacheron Constantin with its ‘Metiers d’Arts’ or Laurent Ferrier with painted dials on its Galet Secret. JeanRichard, in a lower price range, just introduced a nice example of art and watches combining, with the ‘Hokusai’ limited edition of its Aquascope.Katsushika Hokusai is a very famous Japanese painter of the 19th century; know for ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa‘ painting. This dismantled ocean representation is the theme used in a new limited edition by JeanRichard, with a dial engraved with waves. This new timepiece was conceived to celebrate the sesquicentennial of Swiss-Japanese relations in 2014 (FP Journe also did a limited edition to celebrate the French-Chinese relations). And to comply with the subject of this p
