Luxury Watches |
Every gift, every extravagant expenditure, and every day is a reason to celebrate. IWC's 2956 is celebrating its seventy-fifth anniversary by unveiling its flamboyant yet chic, stylish yet simple, vogue yet elegant Portugieser Automatic. The epitome of luxury, the IWC went all out in the designing of Portugieser, as the dial's case is made up of pure white gold, the dial's base is aqua blue, whereas the double-sided strap is black in color (in the front) and neon orange (at the back). With a power reserve indicator, the timepiece has a power reserve of a whopping hundred and sixty-eight hours. The main dial houses four subdials and a small aperture between 7 and 8 o' clock for telling the year.

When Omega Re-Issues The Speedmaster Mark II, Monochromes Knights Sit ¡®Round The Table To Duke It Out! - Monochrome Watches
From January to April, the world of watchmaking is beating at the rhythm of press releases, before SIHH and Baselworld. Yesterday, we've received from Omega an interesting piece of news, the presentation of the Speedmaster Mark II re-issue. At Monochrome's offices (not that far from Wayne Tower) this kicked-up more than just a little dust. It set off a mini debate between young lion (Brice) and Middle-Aged Lion (Mario) [Brice - see what I did there! You're in lower case!]. Because Monochrome-Watches is more than just words on website, it's a team, with its members and their own preferences and tempers. So let's present you the new Omega Speedmaster re-issue in a different way. Introducing the World's Thinnest Mechanical Wrist Watch: Piaget Altiplano 38mm 900P - Monochrome Watches
In January JLC pushed Piaget from their throne, when they introduced the world’s thinnest wrist watch. Now Piaget takes back, what can be considered their rightful position, by introducing the (new) world’s thinnest watch. Piaget is famous for its ultra-thin movements and wrist watches. And although fashion was “robust”, Piaget has always created extremely thin timepiece, elevating “ultra-thin”, so it becomes a complication on its own. Here is the Piaget Altiplano 38mm 900P.The new world-record that Piaget sets is 3.65mm. Please take a moment, and look around to find some an object that is less than 4mm thick. And now imagine that is the height of a wrist watch, with a beautifully adorned mechanical movement that even delivers 48 hours of power reserve and is running perfectly within COSC specifications. Now if that isn’t impressive! This is how impressively thin the new Paiget Altiplano 38mm 800P is. Ad - Scroll to continue with art
New Longines Spirit Bucherer BLUE Watches (Specs & Price)
In addition to being the world’s largest watch retailer, Bucherer is also known for its in-house collection of special edition watches, all focused around the brand’s signature colour, blue. Dubbed Bucherer BLUE, this now impressive collection gathers attractive models that are, in certain proportions, using blue to create unique versions of existing watches. Now, it is time for the winged hourglass to be part of the family, with the new (and rather modern) Longines Spirit Bucherer BLUE Watches, in time-only and chronograph versions. The recipe with the Bucherer BLUE collection is usually to have a rather large amount of blue on the dial, strap or even the case… but not always. This year’s take on the Longines Spirit collection is proving that Bucherer can be creative when it comes to make its own watches. And even though blue will be found on these watches, it isn’t the dominant colour. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Andersen Geneve Tempus Terrae - a special edition to commemorate Louis Cottier's WorldTime watch - Specs & price - Monochrome-Watches
There a few watches that are as?practical as a world timer, a watch able to give you in a single look at the dial the time of all the main cities around the world (and your local time too). In a world of growing globalization, these timepieces are now seen as extremely useful – but this was not the case when invented. This complication is credited to the famous watchmaker Louis Cottier with the highly collectible Patek Philippe Ref. 2523, a beauty that Andersen Geneva commemorates with its latest?special edition, the?Tempus Terrae.Let’s be very clear with you, the?Andersen Geneve Tempus Terrae is a sumptuous piece of horology. When we first saw it during Baselworld 2015, we just felt in love with this watch – and especially our editor-in-chief Frank, known to have a thing?for World-Timer watches. The beauty of the?Andersen Geneve Tempus Terrae comes from its unique shape, its engine-turned dial and its complication. If you’re into vintage watches and rare birds,
First Look: The Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80 20th Anniversary Edition
I won’t hide the reality: finding a genuinely elegant watch at a fair price isn’t the easiest of tasks. Dress watches, while often free of any complications, are not the most represented timepieces within the portfolios of accessible brands. Naturally,? there are some candidates to consider,?but finding an affordable dive watch is far easier. In this field, Tissot enjoys a high ranking with multiple models to choose from, such as the Chemin des Tourelles. However, when it comes to classic elegance and timeless design, the Le Locle, a collection celebrating its 20th anniversary with the present edition, has a lot to offer.?With this watch, Tissot pays tribute to its most classic collection, a watch that was released 20 years ago. It’s also important to note that this lineup was launched as a piece commemorating the brand’s rich past. Founded in the small town of Le Locle in Switzerland back in 1853, Tissot celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2003 by releasing an
