Luxury Watches |
Recognizable because of its elegant and sleek design, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master focuses only on the essential. A paradigm of readability and clarity, the dial is timelessly elegant and deceptively simple, while its classic white color makes it perfect for every occasion. With a transparent case back, time whispers all its secrets, offering you a glimpse of contemporary watchmaking and quality craftsmanship working in perfect harmony. To put it simply, the Master is purity, ad nothing else.

A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Outsize Date (SIHH 2018)
Somewhat eclipsed by the immediate success of the Lange 1 with its off-centred oversized date when it was unveiled in 1994, many of us forget that the Saxonia also had a big date on its dial. The difference was that the Saxonia featured the date in a symmetrical position, just below noon and was counterbalanced by the small seconds counter at 6 o’clock. The underlying symmetry of the Saxonia would distinguish it from its sibling the Lange 1 and become one of the characteristics of the collection. Presenting the A. Lange & Sohne's new Saxonia Outsize Date, a harmonious and symmetrical fusion of core traits with a dark soul – and in terms of concept, there’s a bit of the old Sax-O-Mat in this new watch.A fusion of family traitsThe Saxonia was one of the four pillars that trumpeted Walter Lange's resurrection of the brand in 1994. The epitome of purity and elegance, the name of the collection pays tribute to the German region of Saxony where the brand was founded by
Inside Dubois-Depraz, Module Specialist, And Their New Integrated Chronograph - Technical Perspective
Operating somewhat anonymously within the watch industry, this company keeps its impressive client list confidential. Yet, if you are into watches, there's a good chance the name Dubois-Depraz will be familiar. That's because it is one of the most prominent suppliers in the industry. The company has made a name for itself manufacturing parts and additional mechanisms (in particular chronographs and perpetual calendars) for some of the world's most famous watch brands. Today, we take a closer look at this company – and a peek at its first integrated chronograph movement. An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore, featuring a modular movement with a Dubois-Depraz Chronograph module on top.Modules…There are essentially two ways of getting a complication into a watch. It can be an integrated construction or it can be a modular construction. With an integrated construction, the different functions are incorporated within the movement architecture. With a modular construction, the add
World First - Introducing the Krayon Everywhere that can display Universal Sunrise and Sunset Indications - Monochrome Watches
World first - Krayon, a movement design engineering studio based in Neuchatel, unveils Everywhere, the first mechanical wristwatch to be able to calculate and display the sunrise and sunset times everywhere on the globe. Like many simple, good ideas this is easier said than done. We take a look at this highly impressive mechanical calculator, which also indicates time by hours, minutes and seconds.?Although quite rare, some watches indicate the sunrise and sunset times (for instance Audemars Piguet with the caliber 2120/2808). However these are usually calibrated according to a given place determined by the watch's owner. From a technical perspective, these are (relatively) simple. Cams designed in relation with the particular place rotate once a year and allow to display the changing sunrise and sunset times. Ad - Scroll to continue with article This was not go
TAG Heuer Monaco Heuer 02 In-House CBL2111.FC6453 - Hands-On (Specs & Price)
The 50th-anniversary celebrations of the iconic Monaco watch and its early automatic chronograph movement aren’t over yet – it’s still 2019 after all. Yet, after a series of super-limited editions, one for each decade, it is time to come back to regular production watches. On the occasion of this commemorative year, TAG makes an important move on its classic blue dial, 3 o’clock-crown Monaco – the modern one, not the Steve McQueen-inspired model. Say goodbye to the Monaco Calibre 12 and its outsourced movement; say hello to the new TAG Heuer Monaco Heuer 02, with the brand’s own chronograph movement.BackgroundWe’re not going to review the full history of the Monaco here, but we’re going to focus on the TAG Heuer era. If you want the full story of the Heuer Monaco (understand the 1969 model), we’ve recently produced an in-depth video that will tell you all about this iconic chronograph watch. Vacheron Constantin Historiques Triple Calendar 1948 (Specs & Price)
There is no question Vacheron Constantin makes exceptionally fine timepieces. The brand really comes into its element though when it focuses its attention on vintage-inspired models (in my humble opinion at least). These models invariably belong to the Historiques collection, which celebrates some of the brand's significant models from the past by offering a fresh take. My previous favourite was the 1955 Cornes de Vache Chronograph launched in 2015 but that model was recently usurped by the Vacheron Constantin Historiques Triple Calendar 1948 I am reviewing here today – which is the luxurious and moon phase-equipped sister of the steel?Historiques Triple Calendar 1942 reviewed here.BackgroundGiven that this collection focuses on historic models, it seems only fair to add in a bit of history for context. As you are no doubt aware, the Triple Calendar 1948 was launched last year with a stablemate, the Triple Calendar 1942 in steel (read Brice's excellent review of that watch here).
