Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph 41mm Frosted Gold 26240
Far from a radical transformation to mark its 50th anniversary, the design evolutions practised on the Royal Oak Selfwinding time-and-date and Selfwinding Chronograph models are subtle, perpetuating the spirit of Gerald Genta's epic 1972 Royal Oak. Its commanding octagonal bezel with eight exposed hexagonal screws, its tonneau-shaped case, integrated bracelet, and tapisserie guilloche dial are so sacrosanct and embedded in the identity of the Royal Oak that nobody in their right mind would think of substituting them. Two 41mm Selfwinding Chronographs join the 50th-anniversary party with attractive frosted gold cases and Audemars Piguet's latest-generation integrated flyback chronograph movement, calibre 4401. From May to July 2022, the Frosted Gold Royal Oak Chronograph 41mm?will be sold exclusively in Japan; in August 2022, they will be available worldwide.Hammered gold casesThe cases of these 41mm Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronographs are crafted in 18k white or yellow gold with a spect
First Look: The new Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green SAXEM
While bright colours have become noticeably prevalent in watchmaking for quite a few years, until recently, the exciting hues have been reserved for the dials and the straps. On the other hand, Hublot tries hard to make its entire watches, case included, literally eye-popping. Moreover, the brand strives to showcase its movements and does it well by using sapphire crystals and materials such as SAXEM – Sapphire Aluminium Oxide and Rare Earth Mineral, produced by blending aluminium oxide, the essential component of sapphire, with rare-earth elements. Notable SAXEM-series watches were made available in Green as Big Bang MP-11 (2019), Spirit of Big Bang (2020) and Big Bang Unico (2024) and in bright Yellow Neon (Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic, 2023). Hublot continues the green theme this year and launches the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green SAXEM.The new Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green SAXEM is essentially the same model as the earlier Yellow Neon and other Big Bang To
Value Proposition Martenero Kerrison Automatic (Specs & Price)
While a growing number of microbrands are producing well designed, high-quality watches that are nipping at the heels of brands like Hamilton, Tissot and Seiko, they don't have the marketing or mass production prowess of those established brands. Some of the watches themselves, however, are bonafide contenders. Martenero is a young microbrand based in New York that already has a handful of intriguing lines in its portfolio. It recently funded a sequel to one of its bestsellers on Kickstarter, the Edgemere Reserve. It follows the original Edgemere and adds three complications, a 24-hour sub-dial, date and reserve indicator (the original Edgemere was a time-only piece). One of my favourite Martenero lines is the Kerrison, which is clean and conservative, but also full of personality. They remind me of the Three Hand Automatics?from another young microbrand, Farer Universal. Both use splashes of colour to add a little fun to otherwise subdued (yet stylish) dials. Let's take a closer look
Pre-Montblanc Heritage Chronometrie Date by Hand (hands-on review, specs & price) - Monochrome Watches
Earlier today, we showed you in advance (and with hands-on thoughts) one of the SIHH 2016 highlights from Montblanc, the Heritage Chronometrie Chronograph Quantieme Annuel. You thought that?was all… You were wrong, as Montblanc has more to show us for this 2016 edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie.?After the complicated chronograph with annual calendar, here is a simpler, more affordable and even more dressy edition, from the same collection, the?Montblanc Heritage Chronometrie Date by Hand. The date is THE basic complication in a watch. Whether we’re talking about dress watches, dive or?sports watches, chronographs, vintage-inspired or modern watches, simple or complicated timepieces, we can find this complication (yes, even the date is a complication. In fact, everything that is not linked to the time – hours, minutes and seconds – is a complication) in more than 50% of the watches, making it an almost necessary feature for commercial reaso
Hysek Verdict 46mm Double Tourbillon Sapphire Dial - Monochrome-Watches
What is the goal of a tourbillon? Improving the accuracy, by?negating the effect of gravity. What is the goal of a double tourbillon? Improving twice this accuracy. As basic?as it seems to be, a double tourbillon is not a simple mechanism. And that’s what Hysek, a brand we didn’t cover yet, choose to introduce this year, in the Verdict 46mm Double Tourbillon Sapphire Dial. And this is not the only feature that comes into this watch.Hysek, for those who don’t know the brand, is quite young as it was founded in 1997. The collection is composed of mainly large and robust timepieces with a strong design but also with highly technical movements, such as tourbillons or skeletonized watches. What appeals us is the fact that in 2007, they build their own manufacture where these watches are now designed, developed and crafted. Something that should attracts you?if you are reading us quite often! Ad - Scroll to continue with article
