The Petrolhead Corner - The Automobili Pininfarina Battista
We return to the shores of Lake Como once again, but not to look at some of the world's best vintage cars, but a futuristic EV hypercar instead. The Automobili Pininfarina Battista has been in the works for a couple of years and has now reached production-ready stages. One of the very first completed client-spec cars took top honours in the Concept Cars & Prototypes class during the Concorso. Reason enough for us to take a closer look as well in this latest instalment of The Petrolhead Corner.First things first; this doesn't come from the Carrozzeria Pininfarina design studio famous for sketching some of the most gorgeous Ferrari’s from the 1950s to the early 2010s. This comes from Automobili Pininfarina, a separate entity under the Mahindra Group which focuses on building EV hypercars. There are ties between the two though, as the Mahindra Group acquired the design studio in 2015 and set out to launch Automobili Pininfarina in 2018. Consider it a little bit like an architect

Today, Audemars Piguet releases three new variations of its 41mm Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon with the brand’s latest-generation automatic movement and the legendary Gerald Genta architecture that launched a thousand ships (of copycats). Although there are countless contenders lurking in the background, no watch design can match the sticking power and success of the Royal Oak. When
Chopard L.U.C Flying T Twin (Live Pics, Specs & Price)
Slim, sophisticated and with just the right hint of complexity, the new Chopard L.U.C Flying T Twin is a collector's dream. Recently unveiled at Baselworld 2019, it's the first calibre equipped with a flying tourbillon from the Manufacture. Cased up in 100% ethically sourced Fairmined gold, it cuts a striking figure on the wrist. We managed to get our hands on one and were impressed by its perfect proportions and high-level finishing, the latter of which earned this model the Geneva Seal. Read on for a closer look at this handsome timepiece. When it comes to finding a really nice dress watch, often the challenge is the dimensions. There is no shortage of attractive dials but sometimes case size and finishing leave a little (or a lot) to be desired. Thankfully that is most certainly not the case with the new Chopard L.U.C Flying T Twin. In fact, I would almost go as far to say that its proportions are close to perfect. Tudor Black Bay Ceramic One M7921 for Only Watch 2019 - Hands-On
Among the many unique pieces introduced for Only Watch 2019, there was one surprising watch, made by Tudor, in an unprecedented colour scheme and material. Based on the signature Black Bay model, the brand presented the first full-black, ceramic version of this popular dive watch. We had the chance to have this watch in our hands and we wanted to share this with you… but also to talk about future, as we know that Tudor’s unique pieces for Only Watch can sometimes lead to more than just one watch! The Tudor Black Bay Ceramic OneLet’s get straight to the point… This watch is black, really black. Clearly, Tudor’s intention wasn’t to offer optimal legibility here (p.s. it is one of the most complex watches we recently had to photograph). Everything in this watch is black or dark grey and most of the watch is treated with matte surfaces. Stealth mode activated! Ad - Scroll to continue with article
The Vacheron Constantin Metiers d'Art Tribute To Explorer Naturalists
Vacheron Constantin has long demonstrated a commitment to perpetuate and encourage the traditional and often rare metiers d’art skills. The brand’s Metiers d’Art watches find their inspiration in art, history, and culture. On the occasion of Watches and Wonders Shanghai 2023, a new chapter in this collection is unveiled with a quartet of limited edition watches in tribute to explorer naturalists. The theme will unmistakably evoke some of the brand’s past metier d’art creations, such as the Mercator, Audubon or Great Explorers series. For this new Metiers d’Art collection, Vacheron Constantin has invited collectors to embark on board the HMS Beagle alongside the most illustrious 19th-century naturalists (including Charles Darwin) as the British ship travelled around the world in the 1830s. The five-year journey and discoveries of the Beagle provided the theme to grace these four watches with compelling historical, botanical or zoological decorations.
