HYT H2 Titanium Black DLC - Full Review with live photos, specs and price - Monochrome-Watches
In 2012, when introducing the first of the Hydro-Mechanical watches, the H1, the young and mad brand called HYT created quite a mess in the watchmaking world. Those guys get the strange idea to equipped their creations with the worst enemy of a watch: liquid. We tested this watch and we felt in love with it, just because of the rationality and serious of the concept. Back in 2013, only 1 year after their first attempt, HYT brought an even more exciting successor in the name of the HYT H2 Titanium Black DLC and we've been testing it again. The HYT H1 Red2 we handled for a few weeks gave us some clues on how serious this concept was. When this watch came to the world, we felt first a great excitement but also some scepticism. How come a brand just registered would be able to achieve such a complex idea. Of course, the HYT team is composed of watchmakers and talented engineers (with their sister company Preciflex). But even Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Breitling Navitimer 1 Automatic 38 3-hand (Specs & Price)
Georges Kern has been busy dusting off cobwebs and streamlining references (from 600 to 120) since he was appointed CEO of Breitling in the summer?of 2017. With large market segments entirely overlooked by the brand's predominant focus on oversized pilot's watches, Kern has altered the flight plan. His mission is one of expansion and he hopes to attract women and lure the Asian market into the Breitling fold. The new 38mm Navitimer 1 three-hander would seem to be a direct response to his strategy and plays the unisex card to great effect. Ideal for men with smaller wrists and women who like watches with a more virile personality, let's take a closer look at the Navitimer 1 Automatic 38.Turbulence or smooth sailing on the horizon for BreitlingFollowing the hullabaloo provoked by the unveiling of the Navitimer 8 Collection – with die-hard fans of the legendary Navitimer chronograph offended by a collection that looks nothing like an original Navitimer - Breitling had a lot of expla
Calibre 11 - Vintage Heuer watches - Monochrome Watches
Calibre 11 is the first automatic chronograph and the name of a new weblog dedicated to Vintage Heuer watches. If you’re into vintage Heuer watches, you might want to check it out. Since my first ‘expensive’ watch, a vintage Heuer Autavia, i’m a huge fan of vintage Heuer watches. Especially their chronographs. The fact they made the first automatic chronograph ever, also adds to my admiration of these watches…. OK, they developed it together with Buren, Breitling and Dubois-Depraz. Although i must admit some of the Heuer dive watches aren’t bad either, i have a thing for chronographs. I ended up buying the diver’s version of the Heuer Autavia ??My vintage Heuer AutaviaUnfortunately my biggest love (in watches), the independent watchmakers, hardly make any chronograph. Of course there are a few… the MIH Watch of course and the Habring2 Chrono COS. Both beautiful chronographs and made by independent watchmakers. Ad - Scroll to co
Hands-On - Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Master Chronometer Baselworld 2018 (Specs & Price)
Twenty-five years ago, in 1993, Omega launched a model that would become a classic among classics, a springboard into the world of luxury watches and cinematic fame after being worn by Pierce Brosnan in Goldeneye (1995): the Seamaster Professional 300M. If the look of the new model launched at Baselworld 2018 feels rather conservative, the evolution is simply impressive and concerns every single part of the watch. And believe me, the new Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Master Chronometer?gives you a lot of bang for your buck.At first, the new?Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Master Chronometer might seem like just another SMP300. Nothing really new, nothing to stir up a heated debate. It is still the simple, high-quality dive watch that we all know. However, if you look in-depth, you quickly understand that everything – absolutely everything – is different or better. Materials, proportions, movement, colours… Omega has done a tremendous job to respect the spirit of the SMP300 wh
Hands-on: The Patek Philippe 5236P In-Line Perpetual Calendar
The ref. 5236P, unveiled by Patek Philippe in 2021, is a veritable time capsule inspired by the linear perpetual calendar pocket watches of the 1950s and 1960s. Think of the ref. 725/4 with its American digital perpetual calendar or the ref. 699, which also boasted a minute repeater. The magic lies in its calendar display, nestled within a single, horizontal window at the top of the dial. This clever design sets it apart from the conventional multi-sub-dial calendar displays. The “American” reference? That’s a nod to the date format used - month first, followed by the date, and finally, the day of the week. This same straight-line calendar display is reborn in the ref. 5236P lacks the American designator and is powered by an ingeniously crafted new calendar mechanism, the 31-260 PS QL. Upon its launch, Patek Philippe presented a stunning platinum-cased version with a blue dial. This year, the brand introduced a salmon-dial reference 5236-010; it stole hearts like a ma
