Jaeger LeCoultre's Reverso Tribute Duoface 2582 is a slightly unconventional looking timepiece with a rectangular shaped dial. The stainless steel case has a blue leather strap; the white dial contrasts splendidly with the same shaded Arabic numerals and minute and hour hands. The minute markers are shown with the same blue shade. The dial is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, and the timepiece has a power reserve of forty-two hours. Swaying away from the current fashion of automatics, the Jaeger LeCoultre's Reverso Tribute Duoface opted for a hand-winding wristwatch.

Why I Don't Understand The Hate For The AP Code 11.59 Anymore
What do you do when you want to launch a new collection alongside a truly legendary range that once redefined what luxury watchmaking was? Do you tweak a design and pray it doesn’t get any banter because it looks too much like your precious icon? Or take off in a completely different direction altogether, to find new inspiration and break new grounds in terms of design? Either way, it’s a tough thing to do for sure, but Audemars Piguet took the gamble in 2019 when they introduced the Code 11.59 collection. Hugely different from the famous Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore, but somehow it didn’t capture the heart of collectors and enthusiasts. Was it really that bad? And is it still to this day, that bad? No, it wasn’t back then, and even less these days, which watches like the Code 11.59 Universelle have clearly proven. Through clever use of design, materials, colours and by now extremely complicated movements, the Code 11.59 has seriously matured. But somehow, i
Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Titanium Black Dial Hands-On
With six world records in six years, the Octo Finissimo legion marches forward to consolidate Bvlgari's ultra-thin watch empire. The Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT, which smashed the world record as the thinnest chronograph watch in 2019, returns in 2021 with a new black opaline dial and an on-trend sporty black rubber strap. And we’ll have a closer look at it today.a Sextet of Lean MachinesBvlgari's conquering campaign of ultra-thin watches initiated in 2014 and was commandeered by the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon with its 5mm thick case. Determined to cover the gamut of classic complications, the tourbillon was followed in 2016 with the thinnest minute repeater, and in 2017 by the world's slimmest automatic watch (recently upstaged by Piaget's Altiplano Ultimate Concept). In 2018 the Octo Finissimo Automatic Tourbillon was released, the thinnest automatic and tourbillon watch at just 3.95mm, succeeded by the Chronograph GMT of 2019. Last year marked the sixth conquest with the wor
Bubba Watson wins Golf Tournament wearing a Richard Mille RM038 - Monochrome Watches
Now usually you won’t see these kind of titles on Monochrome, however in this case I wanted to make an exception. The reason for this, is that withstanding the shocks and G-forces that a wrist watch endures during a game of golf, are ‘pretty extreme’.Of course we’re happy for 33 year old Bubba Watson. However Monochrome is not about sharing sports results. Richard Mille’s technical achievement is something Monochrome should report about and we will. The recently released RM055 Bubba Watson can withstand forces of no less than 500G; that’s ‘pretty extreme’. Ad - Scroll to continue with article During the tournament, Bubba Watson was wearing his RM038. The RM038 tourbillon is able to work in golf's extreme conditions and was designed with 3 major specifications in mind: lightness, extreme shock resis-tance and comfor
Hands-on - Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre Quantieme Lunaire in white gold and opened dial (live pics, specs & price) - Monochrome Watches
The concept behind the Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre has always been highly interesting, from both a technical and visual side. The entire lineup of watches under the Duometre name are coming with a unique Dual-Wing system, including two barrels and two gear trains. One of the main springs powers the display of the time and the complications, while the other mains spring powers, via the second gear train, the regulating organ of the watch. Both are regulated by a single escapement module, although these two are connected. For the visual pleasure, the movement’s finishing is just superb, like we’re used to from Jaeger-LeCoultre. For the SIHH 2016, a new version of the?Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre Quantieme Lunaire, now in white gold and with opened dial, has been launched, a very good excuse to look back at this watch. The idea behind the Duometre concept is simple. All starts from a?basic observation. In a traditional complication watch,?any function not constantly linked?to the ge
The Collector's Series - Why the Oris Divers Sixty Five is such a cool watch for our Managing Editor? - Monochrome Watches
When I think back to 2015, there were two new watches that seemed to pop up all over the place: the Tudor Black Bay and the Oris Divers Sixty Five. And for good reason. Both models are great looking and both are positioned to be affordable. We covered the Sixty Five in all it's glory here last year. What I was keen to establish was, is it the Sixty Five's rugged, vintage inspired looks or it's versatility that attracts a collector? The only way to know is to ask, right? I met up with a good friend, Brice, collector and Managing Editor here at Monochrome-Watches, to find out what he thinks about his own Sixty Five, in this new installment of the Collector’s Series.Brice, tell us when you bought your Oris Divers Sixty Five?? Ad - Scroll to continue with article I received the watch in September 2015 or something like that, so that's quite a recent purchase.
