First Look: The new Sand Gold AP Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon 38mm
Marking a first for the recently introduced 38mm iteration of Code 11.59, Audemars Piguet equips its most compact reference with an automatic flying tourbillon. Not just any tourbillon, mind you, but AP's ultra-thin calibre 2968, aka RD#3. Representing the best of both worlds, the new Code 11.59 Tourbillon fuses a state-of-the-art movement with a graceful sand gold case sparkling with diamonds.Tourbillon complications were relatively rare in Audemars Piguet's historical repertoire until 1986 when it launched the calibre 2870, the world's first automatic serially produced tourbillon. One of the lightest of its kind thanks to its titanium cage, calibre 2870 weighed just 0.123g and was also one of the thinnest (4.8mm) until it was surpassed by Bulgari's Octo Finissimo in 2018.The 2023 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Extra-Thin RD#3, fitted with the calibre 2968Celebrating the Royal Oak's 50th anniversary in 2022, AP produced an automatic flying tourbillon to fit in
Watches and Wonders 2021 Dates and Brand List Confirmed
The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed the face of the world and how business is done. The watch industry is no stranger to the situation and, in 2020, sales have been greatly affected. Another consequence has been the cancellation of most physical watch events, including Watches and Wonders 2020 – which was transformed into a digital edition – and the death of Baselworld, with most large exhibitors leaving the show. Today, the Exhibitor Committee has confirmed dates, participating brands and the fact that we’ll be talking about a two-phase event, both online and offline.?Due to the pandemic, Watches and Wonders 2021 had to change its format. We now know that the event will take place in two phases, over the course of April 2021. First will be an online event, the replacement for Watches an
Introducing The Yellow Gold Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Skeleton Chronograph (Live Pics & Price)
Even though we haven’t seen new records broken recently, the Bulgari Octo Finissimo remains one of the most impressive ultra-thin collections in existence, setting an industry benchmark. From the thinnest tourbillon to the thinnest perpetual calendar, and then some, Bulgari has made a name for itself as the master of modern thinness. The watch we’re looking at today was once and still is the world's thinnest tourbillon-chronograph on the market, a watch packed with technical features and powered by a stunning movement. This year, the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Skeleton Chronograph is presented in a new ultra-luxurious edition, dressed up in yellow gold.?It has become a tradition for the collection to introduce new models in sandblasted titanium cases and bracelets. A sleek, monochromatic attire that focuses on the technical achievement, not on the habillage. And let’s be honest, these full-grey and matte watches are pretty special. A combination of sleek design
Baselworld 2015 - Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award (specs & price) - Monochrome-Watches
That’s the one we (almost) predicted. We were 90% sure that Omega would come with a new edition of the Snoopy Speedmaster Professional. The one we imagined is however quite far from this new?Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award ref.?311.32.42.30.04.003. Using the iconic Speedy Pro base, it however brings not only a new dial but also several little details that will definitely create a proper?collectible edition. Before we go into what is new in this?Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award, let’s first look at what doesn’t change. The base of this limited edition (1.970 pieces) is THE classical Omega Speedmaster Professional a.k.a Moonwatch, meaning a 42mm chronograph made in both polished and brushed?stainless steel, with a 3-counter layout and using the Omega Calibre 1861. Technically speaking, Omega keeps here the nearly same (and totally superb) recipe since 1965. A Snoopy Award edition of the Speedmaster isn’t either a n
