This model from the Dolce vita collection by Longines has a unique design with its rectangular dial. Its silver flinque color stands out more with the wavy stripes. The midnight blue hands and hour markers add a mysterious feel to the dial. There is a rectangular date window at 6 o'clock, which balances off the Longines logo at the 12 o'clock position. The sapphire crystal has a high resistance to scratches and retains its shine.

The Race for Accuracy - The definition of a Chronometer - Monochrome-Watches
A few months ago we reviewed here in Monochrome the new Omega Globemaster introduced in Baselworld this year. The specific model continues the company’s ever-lasting quest for accuracy squeezed out from a highly tuned mechanical wristwatch platform. From the 1948 Century model, to the Constellation series and then to the Globemaster and from various chronometer competitions to COSC and then to METAS standards, we witness that Omega, as any other Swiss watch company, has an obsession with the accuracy of its timepieces. However, Omega is not the only one in this quest; Patek Phillipe, , Audemars Piguet, Longines, Seiko, JLC, Chopard and many other companies, including Zenith competed in the past and still by following various standards try to produce an accurate and robust calibre. Accuracy is an intangible quality but at the same time a very useful feature for the lovers of mechanical watches. In this article therefore we will try to shed a light to the chronometry competitions

Now, in exactly one year's time, the world will be turning its attention to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, and Omega will mark its 31st participation as Official Timekeeper. As a tribute to this involvement and to celebrate the upcoming Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, Omega is released in a Paris 2024 special edition watch, based on its classic Seamaster Diver 300M.?Only available for now in the Paris-based boutiques of the brand (7 in total), this new Seamaster Paris 2024 Edition is a luxurious version of an all-time classic of the brand, intended to evoke the coveted medals that every athlete strives for. Vintage Corner - A Case Study on ¡®Original Condition for Vintage Watches, with Omega Seamaster 300
When it was originally launched back in the early 1960s, the Omega Seamaster 300 was, together with the Submariner, a mass-produced specialist dive watch for the burgeoning recreational diver market. There was also Blancpain and a few others like Doxa, Eterna, Favre Leuba, but none of them was on the same production scale. Today's Vintage Corner' is not meant to be a history of the dive watch but more of an introduction to what you should look for in terms of the condition of these watches today. The idea is to understand what the term in original condition' means regarding these types of vintage tool watches. Particularly dive watches, like the Seamaster 300, which tend to have endured quite some action over their lifetimes. The first generation Seamaster 300, with straight lugs, thin black bezel insert and broad arrow' hands, was replaced in 1963/1964 by the now well-known Seamaster 300 ST 165.024. It featured a case very similar to the Omega Speedmaster of the era. Similar proporti
Interview: Patrick Dempsey on TAG Heuer, Porsche and the new Carrera Chronosprint
Juggling between acting, directing, car racing, his family and philanthropy,? Patrick Dempsey also manages to squeeze in time for his role as TAG Heuer brand ambassador, a position he has held since 2014. Just a couple of days before the unveiling of the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche, we sat down with Patrick Dempsey and chatted about this new watch in tribute to the iconic 911. A perfect opportunity as Patrick Dempsey has a very special relationship with both brands.Xavier Markl, MONOCHROME – What is your first watch memory growing up?Patrick Dempsey – My father's watch. I don't remember what the brand was, but that was my first memory. I remember seeing it on his side table as I got up in the morning. This is my first image of a watch or of the concept of watches. What is fascinating today is that a lot of young people don't have to tell time because they are used to their phones. What's been very fun is to get my son his first watch and then have him wear
