The Bulgari Divas' Dream Mosaica 2023 Collection
Bulgari’s watchmaking renaissance has produced some remarkable watches. While the Octo has asserted itself as a pillar of incontestable elegance and thinness, women around the world have succumbed to the seductive sinuous charms of Bulgari’s snake mascot, the Serpenti. The iconic Roman jeweller, renowned for its exuberant colours, sensual cabochon cuts and design bravura, introduced the sensual Divas’ Dream collection in 2016, designed to capture the voluptuous curves of Italian Dolce Vita screen divas. Kicking off LVMH Watch Week, Bulgari launches new editions of the Divas’ Dream Mosaica, two new high jewellery mechanical editions that marry Bulgari’s iconic style with the ancient Roman art of mosaic picked out in gradient sapphires. Two years ago, Bulgari released three Divina Mosaica models, including a stunning diamond-set minute repeater, with sumptuous gemstone-set dials recreating a motif borrowed from Rome’s ancient Caracalla Baths. Collector's Corner - The iconic Cartier Tank Americaine
We've spent quite a lot of time talking about sports watches in The Collector's Corner. In the last article, we took a look at the Breguet Type XX, but now we head back to the realm of the dress watch. No more dress complications this time - we've had quite a few of those already (both from JLC and from Breguet). No, now we talk about the pinnacle of the dress watch: time-only, and what better way to highlight this than to talk about a watch made by Cartier? The jewellery house excels in unconventional and daring designs, and though many of their most iconic watch case shapes date back to the first half of the 20th century, our subject today is the spring chicken of the bunch.Cartier's iconic rectangular wristwatch, the Tank, was born in 1917 and said to be inspired by the stark lines of Renault FT-17 tanks. In the decades since, the Tank design was iterated on but the focus always lay on elegance and on pushing the boundaries of case shapes (Tank Chinoise or Asymetrique, anyone?). Ind

This?Tudor Pelagos LHD is a actually a nod to the past, paying tribute to a watch made for the French navy in 1961, the Tudor 9401 left-hand, with a black dial and snowflake hands (you can see the link already…). Back then some of the left-handed divers reported issues when wearing the watch on their left arm and so
First Look: The TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Skeleton Pink
TAG Heuer is synonymous with the racetrack, and Jack Heuer's legendary motorsport-inspired chronographs have not lost an iota of popularity. Following fast on the heels of the 1963 Carrera chronograph, in 1969, Heuer produced a bold, square chronograph with a blue dial and a crown on the left side and named it after the Monaco Grand Prix. Immortalised on Steve McQueen's wrist in the cult 1971 film Le Mans, the Monaco has adapted to the new materials and technologies of the watch panorama over the past fifty-five years. The latest Monaco has enjoyed a pit stop in Las Vegas as it reveals its engine with a skeletonised dial and bright pink accents inspired by the neon lights of the Strip. To give you an idea of the ever-increasing allure of TAG Heuer’s square chronograph, the first of the six Monaco prop watches used in Le Mans was sold in 2009 for USD 87,600, a second reference in 2012 for USD 799,500, a third in 2020 for USD 2.2 million (the highest price any Heuer watch has ever r
Jacob & Co. Astronomia Alec Monopoly (Specs & Price)
As a child of the 1980s, I grew up quite a few years before a little thing called the internet was widely available. Games were plaid off-line rather than online and you'd had to time yourself to watch?your favourite TV show, otherwise, you'd miss it. Growing up I had a few favourite TV cartoons and board games to play. And to my surprise, two of those things have just reared their head in an ultra-complex Jacob & Co in a collaboration with renowned artist and painter Alec Monopoly.?And once again, it is mechanical boldness to the max.Presented as a special collaboration between perhaps the most extravagant independent watchmaker and the famous street artist, the Astronomia Alec Monopoly combines several artistic crafts within the signature Astronomia theme. The four arms of the movement rotate over a sparkling black aventurine base dial, with four unique and handcrafted characters pretty much all of us are familiar with.
