Luxury Watches |
If luxury could ever be outshined, it would be by the presence of La Grande Classique de Longines L45124942. The lavish timepiece almost gives off a royal look to the onlookers. It oozes style, charisma, and confidence all too easily. The timepiece has a unique design to it. The dial is latched on the bracelet with two silver bars, which gives off the feeling as if it is merely just sitting there. The dial and the bracelet both are sunray blue in shade, with white painted Roman numeral working as hour markers. The mere simplicity of the timepiece and absence of every other function on the dial itself gives it a rustic charm.

Collector's Series - The One-Of-A-Kind Czapek Antarctique Alpha
There's something truly fascinating and intriguing with the idea of having something unique, something that you've designed together with the manufacturer's team Bespoke watchmaking isn't such a common practice and we're always rather curious to hear the stories behind the creation of a bold, highly personal watch. Something like this Czapek, which isn't the most consensual of all. After all, this is also what makes it such a cool story. Dr. Ayham Refaat, a 45 year-old surgeon, entrepreneur and CEO from Dubai, indeed wears a one-of-a-kind Czapek Antarctique Alpha on his wrist. It matches his search for unique pieces and complicated watches perfectly. In this edition of the Collector's Series, he tells us all about his journey with Czapek to create the ultimate personal watch.Frank Geelen, MONOCHROME – What was it that attracted you to the Czapek brand? Collector's Series - Fran?ois-Xavier Overstake's URWERK UR103.08 TiAlN
Today I’m talking with long-time friend Fran?ois-Xavier Overstake, aka @equationdutemps. This is not just his Instagram handle, but also the name of his blog about watches, which is probably one of the most important French publications on watches. Besides running his own blog, Francois-Xavier is a moderator on Watchprosite, a large watch forum. At 51 he has a day time job in the compliance department of a big insurance company and his leasure time is devoted to the beauty of mechanical timepieces. We’re talking about his stunning URWERK UR103.08 TiAlN.Frank Geelen, MONOCHROME – Do you remember when you first laid eyes on Urwerk as a brand?Fran?ois-Xavier Overstake – Urwerk is a recent brand compared to long-established companies; it was founded in 1997. But at the same time, it has also been a long time player in the independent watchmaking segment. Actually, thanks to its style and its focus on a specific time display (wandering hours), Urwerk managed to build
Review of the Fortis Cockpit One - Value Proposition
When you're on the hunt for your perfect watch, or even just a compulsory purchase, there is a lot out there to lust after. For example, when it comes to dive watches we've seen that there are a lot more than just Submariners, Seamasters or Panerais to choose from, which is great especially if you are shopping with somewhat of a limited budget. Case in point, this newly introduced Fortis Cockpit One, an automatic Swiss watch with some very nice features, in the 1000-1500 Euro/USD/CHF price bracket. Today we're taking a long, hard look at what you get for that money in one of our familiar extensive reviews!Fortis is a brand that probably isn't on everyone's radar but I don't know if that's necessarily fair. They definitely deserve some attention for some of their earlier collections as well as what's available in today's market. The most well-known pieces from the brand are perhaps the B42 or Cosmonaut's collections, which are mostly vintage inspired, automatic chronographs and space-bo
Appointments at LVMH: New Head of Watchmaking Division and Frederic Arnault Head of Strategy at TAG Heuer - Monochrome Watches
In an article published yesterday by French business magazine Challenges (see the article here, in French), it seems that the Watchmaking Division of LVMH (TAG Heuer, Hublot, Zenith) is about to be reshuffled. The article mentions (without sources or quotes) two important appointments: Frederic Arnault, the 23-year-old son of Bernard Arnault (CEO of LVMH), gets a new position at TAG?Heuer and?Stephane Bianchi is appointed as the head of the?Watchmaking Division.?First, it appears that a young man, Frederic Arnault, Bernard’s penultimate son (aged 23), takes on a much more important position at TAG Heuer. Already appointed Head of Connected Watches at TAG in July 2017, he will now be the Head of Strategy and Digital of the brand. Passionate about new technologies, this recent Polytechnique graduate (just like his father) was already in charge of the brand’s 2.0 products, yet he’s now offered a much wider position at TAG Heuer, a brand with revenues of EUR 900 million.T
Video Review IWC Big Pilot Annual Calendar Petit Prince Steel IW502710
The connection between IWC Schaffhausen and Saint-Exupery's heirs and their charitable organisation, the Antoine de Saint-Exupery Youth Foundation, dates back to 2006. And since then, we've seen multiple editions dedicated to one of the most important characters of literature, Le Petit Prince. While the Saint-Exupery editions are characterised by their warm colours and tobacco brown dials, the Petit Prince models display midnight-blue dials, stylised numerals and a certain vintage vibe. Today, the collection is enlarged with the new Big Pilot Annual Calendar Le Petit Prince IW502710, which is now available in stainless steel. The Annual Calendar complication appeared first at IWC in 2015, within the Portugieser collection. And it has been within the Pilot's Watch range since 2016. But keep in mind that this practical display of the calendar remains sort of a rarity and not many Big Pilot watches have been equipped with this complex movement. We've seen it in the 150-year edition of 2018
