Introducing: Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Year of the Snake
After the Dragon, it will soon be time to celebrate another important animal of the Chinese Zodiac, the snake, an animal associated with wisdom, charm and transformation. Since 2016, Hublot has been commemorating the Chinese New Year with artfully rendered special editions of the Spirit of Big Bang – such as the Dragon-themed model of last year. As you will have guessed by now, the brand is now releasing a snake-themed version of its tonneau-shaped watch to celebrate the Year of the Snake.For this special edition Spirit of Big Bang Chronograph, the snake theme extends from the dial to the case and strap. Fashioned out of micro-blasted and polished ceramic, it is fully rendered in black with the exception of an impressively detailed, gold-plated miniature snake coiling around the counters of its sapphire dial. Introducing: Vacheron Constantin Tribute To Traditional Symbols
Vacheron Constantin taps into a more creative vein with the latest quartet of watches celebrating ancient Chinese culture. Emerging from Vacheron's Metiers d'Art atelier, the four models offer two different interpretations of the legendary Chinese motif known as the Seawater Cliff. The motif, which appeared in the 14th century, represents the sea crashing against steep cliffs. Presented in 38mm gold cases with richly decorated dials using different enamelling techniques, the two Eternal Flow models feature vivid technicolour dials, while the Moonlight Slivers interpret the theme in a more restrained palette.For the latest Metier's d'Art Series, Vacheron's design department was drawn to the Seawater Cliff, an omnipresent symbol of imperial China reproduced in architecture, furniture, porcelain and silk ceremonial dragon robes.
