Introducing The AP Royal Oak Jumbo 16202BC Blue/White Gold
Following the release last year of an updated Royal Oak Jumbo Extra-Thin collection – the 16202ST, for the steel model – in the frame of the 50th anniversary of the brand’s iconic watch, Audemars Piguet is today releasing a new version that, visually, will feel familiar to fans of the model. If I say 14802PT…? Yes, this extremely rare version of the Royal Oak Jumbo Jubilee 20-year, made of platinum, in only 20 examples, with some of the examples featuring a grained blue Tuscan dial. Well, it’s somehow back, with the new Royal Oak Jumbo Ultra-Thin 16202BC, a boutique-exclusive white gold version with… a grained blue dial.?The inspiration, the 20th-anniversary Royal Oak Jumbo Jubilee 14802PT, in platinum with grained blue dial – image by Phillips WatchesLooking at the image of the 14802PT above, it is obvious where AP found the inspiration. First Look: The Cartier Tanka Guichets Watch is Back in 2025
Let’s push on several open doors… One, Cartier, the French jeweller-watchmaker, is the master of shaped watches. Second, Cartier’s most emblematic watch is, undoubtedly, the Tank. Third, there are actually dozens of Tank watches, and the depth of the collection goes far beyond the Tank LC and the Tank Normale. With this in mind, and knowing what Cartier has done recently with its Prive collection, you might have noticed that one of the most unconventional and yet iconic models is still missing. We’re, of course, talking about the Tanka Guichets, a watch that somehow feels part of the brand’s landscape while remaining pretty rare – it has only been sporadically produced. Welcome to Watches and Wonders 2025… The year the Tanka Guichets is back (once again).?A short historical recap about the Tank a GuichetsThe Cartier Tank is said to have been created in 1917, with a watch that would later be named the Tank Normale (to differentiate it from every
Introducing the new MONOCHROME Hand-Made Rally Straps - Monochrome Watches
End of last year we introduced the new Monochrome Web-Shop and our hand-made premium leather watch rolls. We’re very proud that our customers were very impressed by the impeccable quality. Since we write about the most beautiful and exclusive timepieces of our planet, we feel that our products should be on par with that. So we searched long, to find a very good strapmaker, who makes the very best straps for your vintage timepieces.Several years ago I already asked myself if changing straps is just a hobby for Paneristi? I do realize that it probably started with Panerai watches, however personally I love to switch straps on my other watches as well. The straps are hand-made in Cyprus, and are crafted of the finest leathers. These ‘rally’ straps are punctured with holes, in a typical 1960’s/1970’s racing style and look absolutely great on your vintage Speedmaster, Camaro, Carrera, Autavia, Monaco, Top Timer, or any other vintage/modern chronograph.
Editorial: Why Boldness Matters by Virtue Of The Tudor Black Bay Chronograph Flamingo Blue
Let me state something that I know will spark some people; as a watch-loving community, we’ve become far too negative in our opinions. Especially when it comes to social media, it’s easy to discard something you don’t like or even ridicule or bash. It’s a fairly common thing to express one’s (negative) opinion in such a way and state it as factual instead of opening up to discussions. And that’s a bad thing. Live and let live, or agree to disagree seems to be a dwindling character trait. Case in point: expressiveness in watches. Call it boldness, creativity or audacity; it’s often met with very negative fanfare, and I don’t get that. So I thought, why not sample a watch that’s quite in-your-face colourful and make a case for opening up to expressiveness from now on! , the King of conservatism? It’s often said that some brands employ an “evolution over revolution” strategy, where watches are fine-tuned rather than co
