The 2022 A. Lange & Sohne Grand Lange 1 - Review, Specs & Price
When Gunter Blumlein and Walter Lange undertook the monumental task of reviving A. Lange & Sohne after Germany's reunification, they had to come up with a model that would represent the spirit, past and present, of a legendary Saxon watchmaking brand. Accordingly, the watch would have to embody some of the finest historical traditions associated with Glashutte’s high-end German watchmaking, but it would also have to flaunt a combination of design and mechanics that would signal the way forward. And as everyone familiar with the brand knows, the Lange 1 appeared in the line-up of A. Lange & Sohne's four inaugural watches in 1994. With its intrepid asymmetric layout and outsize date display, the Lange 1 was singled out as the star of the quartet. Interpreted with different complications over the decades, the Lange 1 is considered the quintessential face of the brand. Following the introduction of the larger Grosse Lange 1 (Grand Lange 1) in 2003 and its various evolutions,
Buying Guide: When Conventional Gold Isn't Good Enough
Gold has always been a representation of prosperity, grandeur, and divinity. It’s also long been associated with wisdom and is, of course, a symbol of achievement in sports or academics. It can also refer to a peak period in time or once life in cultural references such as the golden age or golden era. In watchmaking, it’s often reserved for the most prized watches and known for its heft, shine and aura of luxury. But what if you’re not content with “simple” white, yellow or rose gold? What if you want a little bit more, I don’t know, pazazz? As luck would have it, more and more manufacturers are weighing in on the topic with special alloys that offer a different tone or even a higher resistance to shocks or scratches. With that in mind, let’s look at some of the finest and special golds available!A. Lange & Sohne Tourbograph perpetual – honeygoldLet’s get straight into the most complex piece of this list, and one that’s h
Weekly Watch Photo - Audemars Piguet Millenary Star Wheel - Monochrome Watches
Again a photo made by GEO, although this time no Cartier. Audemars Piguet made this rare Millenary Star Wheel for the 125th anniversary of the brand and in my opinion one of the most beautiful of this manufacture. It’s almost refreshing to see another timepieces from Audemars Piguet, than the Royal Oak or Royal Oak Offshore collections. Like the Millenary collection, Audemars Piguet does have several more collections that are very appealing and much more elegant than the RO and ROO. Besides the Millenary I also enjoy beautiful esthetics of the Jules Audemars collection and?the Edward Piguet collection (especially the EP chronograph). Earlier I wrote about the Millenary Piano Forte, a

The Patek Philippe went to a new owner for the price of 1,3 million Swiss Francs (around 850.000 euro). Ad - Scroll to continue with article The expectations for sales of high end watches was not too good, due to the global economic crisis. This auction as the previous auction Antiquorum helt in New York went extremely well. Keep an eye on Antiquorum’s website because in december there will be another auction. This one will be in New York at 10 & 11 december. The catalogue is now online by the way. Have fun bidding ??
Ever Wanted To Own A Championship-Winning Ferrari F1 Car? Now's Your Chance!
There was a time in Formula 1 racing where not one, not two, not three but pretty much half the field had the talent and material to compete for race wins, and thus the championship. During the 1970s, a time that’s considered the golden age of F1 racing, many stars rose to the top. Think of names like Gilles Villeneuve, Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda, James Hunt and so on. But not just drivers became icons of the sport, individual cars had the tendency to do so as well! A lot of people will fondly recall the John Player Special Lotus cars, the Marlboro-sponsored McLarens, or the blue Matras and Tyrrells of the day. And whenever Formula 1 is the topic at hand, Ferrari is never far away. Even today, such stand-out names and achievements vividly resonate with fans of the sport. And luck would have it, you have a chance to own actual F1 racing history, as 12 cars owned and raced by the 1979 F1 World Driver’s Champion Jody Scheckter are coming up
