Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Ceramic-and-Titanium No-Date - 210.92.44.20.01.001 (Specs & Price)
The Seamaster Diver 300M is one of the most beloved watches of Omega fans, and one of the best-sellers of the company. Part of this success is due to the link with James Bond, to the point that despite the long Omega Seamaster 300M Professional name, the watch is very often simply referred to as the James Bond watch. After a tasteful facelift done last year on the time-and-date version, we have this year an additional model dressed in black ceramic and titanium – see here – that has more than just different materials to offer. Here’s our early hands-on with the?Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Ceramic and Titanium (ref.?210.92.44.20.01.001).While simplifying this watch to only the “007 watch” may hurt the watchmaking pride of the company, it surely pleases the marketing and sales side greatly. Last year Omega relaunched the Seamaster 300M with a restyling of the watch, using ceramics for both the bezel and the dial, bringing back the famous waves on the dial and

BREAKING NEWS: Ulysse Nardin acquired by the Kering Group - Monochrome Watches
Just last week Kering announced that Michele Sofisti, who led Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard (both part of the Sowind Group, which is owned by the Kering Group), would become the CEO of Gucci Watches and Jewelry (also part of the Kering Group). A new CEO for Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard was yet to be found. Today the Kering Group announced they acquired Ulysse Nardin. With this latest acquisition the Kering Group is expanding its role in the high-end watch industry. According to Fran?ois-Henri Pinault, Kering's Chairman and CEO, Ulysse Nardin is a highly profitable company with solid prospects for growth. Ulysse Nardin, known for the ground-breaking Freak and much, much more, is one of the few Swiss watchmakers to have its own production capacity for critical watch components, like the escapement. They recently developed their own escapement, the Ulysse Anchor Escapement. Later more about that, and of course now we’re curious to learn who will be at the helm.More info: www.k
Introducing the Ulysse Anchor Escapement - Monochrome Watches
Earlier this year at Baselworld, Ulysse Nardin introduced an entirely new escapement that is referred to as the Ulysse Anchor Escapement. While its name does not immediately give away what it’s all about, it can best be seen in relation to previous ground-breaking developments of the brand, who were the first to introduce a silicon escapement wheel, and for that matter silicon in a wrist watch movement. That was with the introduction of the Freak, back in 2001. Fast forward to the December 2012, when Monochrome broke the story of Girard-Perregaux’s new silicon escapement (and we’re not just talking about the escape wheel or pallet fork, but about the entire escapement) we immediately recognized the potential game-changing qualities. Ulysse Nardin’s new Ulysse Anchor Escapement works in more or less a similar way, and we believe it holds equal, or more, game-changing properties. Let us explain what the new escapement actually is, and why it is, potentially, such
